There were NBL1 West wins for the Warwick Senators, Cockburn Cougars, Lakeside Lightning, Mandurah Magic, Goldfields Giants, Rockingham Flames and East Perth Eagles.

Chloe Forster, Sam Lubcke, Alex Ciabattoni, Jade Gowland, Sara Puckett and Sarah Mortensen starred in NBL1 West wins while Sierra Moore and Delaynie Byrne needed 60 points for Goldfields Giants to overcome Perth Redbacks and Sam Ashby who scored 34.

FRIDAY

Mandurah Magic (67) lost to Cockburn Cougars (91)

Alex Ciabattoni had another big night before departing for Adelaide and the Cockburn Cougars made it 29 straight wins with the 91-67 road win over the Mandurah Magic.

The Magic were back home at Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre coming off a stirring comeback win over the Rockingham Flames two weeks ago and welcoming back Claire Jacobs to take on the unbeaten Cougars.

Cockburn still had Ciabattoni before she returns to Adelaide to play in the NBL1 Central with also undefeated West Adelaide Bearcats, and it was another blistering start from the Cougars with 30 points to 17.

That lead got out to 23 points in the second quarter for the Cougars and even with an 8-0 run from Mandurah in the third term, Cockburn still saw their lead grow to 24 and settle at that margin by the final buzzer.

The reigning champions have won 29 games in-a-row now in the NBL1 West with Ciabattoni delivering 17 points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals before lining up in the NBL1 Central for the Bearcats on Saturday.

New import guard Cierra Walker also had 15 points, six rebounds and two assists, Jewel Williams 13 points, five boards, five assists and four steals, Darcee Garbin 10 points and nine rebounds, and Jessie Edwards eight points, nine boards, four steals, three assists and two blocks.

The Magic are now 3-3 following the loss with Mikayla Pivec finishing with 17 points, 15 rebounds and six assists after her first up triple double in the win against Rockingham.

Claire Jacobs also had 17 points with 4/7 three-point shooting, Jade Gowland 17 points, 10 rebounds and two steals, and Sharn Hayward five points, four assists and two boards.

Warwick Senators (106) defeated Willetton Tigers (59)

Chloe Forster put up 35 points and led the charge for the Warwick Senators as they hit back from their two losses in 24 hours last weekend to hammer the Willetton Tigers 106-59.

The Senators had lost just once in the opening five rounds of the season but then lost away to the East Perth Eagles last Friday night and then at home to the Rockingham Flames on Saturday.

That had them highly motivated to hit back on their home floor once again hosting the Tigers on Friday night to open Round 7 with Willetton coming off a loss in Kalgoorlie having won three straight prior to that.

The Senators were on a mission from the start with 30 points to seven in the first quarter and then to lead 65-31 by half-time while shooting a scorching 63 per cent to just 30 from the Tigers who also had 13 turnovers.

Warwick continued to dominate from there for the 47-point victory to improve to a 5-3 record with the Tigers now 3-5 as their rollercoaster ride under new coach, and 512-game playing veteran, Sue Williams continues.

Chloe Forster had a standout performance despite being guarded by defensive menace Emma Gandini and delivered 35 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals with shooting 11/18 from the floor, 5/11 from downtown and 8/9 at the foul line.

Jayda Clark also provided 13 points, five rebounds and five assists, Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard 12 points, 12 boards, six assists and four steals, and Kyana Weir 11 points all of which came in the first half.

It was a tough night for the Tigers with just the 59 points on 30 per cent field goal shooting and going 7/28 from downtown with the 27 turnovers.

Ruby Porter top-scored with 15 points and two rebounds on 5/18 shooting with Emma Gandini ending up with 11 points, six boards, six steals and five assists against one of her former teams, and Remy Hearn 10 points and four assists.

Lakeside Lightning (76) defeated Perry Lakes Hawks (60)

The Lakeside Lightning got 24 points and 10 rebounds from Sam Lubcke on the way to the 76-60 home win against the Perry Lakes Hawks.

The Lightning were back home at Lakeside Recreation Centre looking snap a two-game losing run while the Hawks were looking to build on their win last week over the Perth Redbacks in the 300th game of Jess Jakens.

Perry Lakes led by as much as six in the first quarter but it was back to one by quarter-time before Lakeside took over in the second frame with 26 points to 19 to be leading 38-32 at the half.

It was then another 27 points to 14 in the third frame for the Lightning to see them end up leading by as much as 23 before securing the 16-point win and improving to a 4-4 record as a result.

Coach Craig Mansfield also enjoyed the win against the team he's coached the past four seasons while Sam Lubcke was outstanding with 24 points, 10 rebounds and two steals on 11/15 shooting.

Delanie Crawford was in for her first game and also put up 19 points and six rebounds with Kiriana Hawaikirangi adding 11 points and two boards, and Sam Roscoe 11 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and two assists.

Perry Lakes are now 2-5 with the loss with Mia Bailey putting up 14 points, three rebounds and two steals with Eva Smith adding eight points, Bridgette Rettstatt eight points and nine rebounds, Mila Wawszkowicz seven points and four boards, Emilie Beggs seven points, two assists and two steals, and Maddy Zugna seven points and six rebounds.

SATURDAY

South West Slammers (80) lost to Mandurah Magic (95)

The Mandurah Magic hit back from their Friday night loss to beat the South West Slammers 95-80 on the back of another standout showing from Jade Gowland.

The Magic lost to the undefeated Cockburn Cougars by 24 points on Friday night ahead of taking on the Slammers on Saturday at Eaton Recreation Centre with the home team fresh off beating the Joondalup Wolves.

It was a fast start at home from South West with 24 points to 14 in the first quarter before Mandurah put up 30 points in the second term even with the Slammers still leading 50-44 by the half.

The Magic took over in the second half, though, with 29 points to 16 in the third quarter and 22 to 14 in the fourth on the way to the 15-point victory to improve to a 4-3 record.

Jade Gowland backed up a strong performance against Cockburn on Friday to be instrumental in the Saturday win with 21 points and eight rebounds on 8/12 field goal shooting and going 3/4 fro behind the three-point arc.

Mikayla Pivec had another big performance made up of 19 points, 17 rebounds, nine assists and two steals with Claire Jacobs adding 14 points, nine boards, four assists and two steals, Sydney Meares 12 points, two rebounds and two blocks, and Georgia Adams 10 points and three assists.

The Slammers are now 2-6 following the loss at home with Hana Lacey-Rameka delivering 27 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists.

Marshaun Bostic added 21 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals, Bri Bailey 12 points, six boards and three assists, and Bree Chalk nine points.

Rockingham Flames (103) defeated Joondalup Wolves (58)

The scariest part of the Rockingham Flames putting up 42 points in the second quarter and 70 in the first half on the way to the 103-58 win over the Joondalup Wolves was that it was all done with Amy Atwell still to come back in.

The Flames were back home at Mike Barnett Sports Complex to host the Wolves and there was plenty of added intrigue with new Flames coach David Morrell up against his old team for the first time.

Shani Amos is also a former Wolves captain, Teige Morrell won an MVP there and Rockingham put in a scorching first half display with 42 points in the second quarter and 70 overall in the first half with 10/14 three-point shooting.

There would be no stopping them from there as they went on to win by 45 points to improve to a 6-2 record with their two losses only against their local rivals the Mandurah Magic.

It was a rough night for Joondalup all round with 37 per cent shooting and just nine free-throw attempts along with only six offensive rebounds while having 17 turnovers.

Opposed to that, Rockingham still ended up shooting 51 per cent with 14/27 from downtown and 14 foul shots while pulling down 15 offensive rebounds and having just eight turnovers to end up taking 19 extra shots in the 45-point triumph.

Sara Puckett was playing her fifth game since joining the Flames and starred once more with 30 points and seven rebounds with 12/17 shooting from the field and 5/7 from behind the three-point line.

Morrell delivered 20 points, 15 rebounds and three assists with another former Wolfpack captain Amos ending up with 13 points, five boards and four assists.

Duffield also hit 3/6 from deep for 13 points with four rebounds while Tiana Wilson-Palmer added seven points, two boards and two assists.

Asianae Johnson top-scored for Joondalup with 18 points and two assists with 4/5 three-point shooting while Awatea Leach added nine points, five rebounds and three assists, and Kim Pierre-Louis eight points and four boards.

Yemiyah Morris also only played 11 minutes and went scoreless without a shot attempt and had just one rebound and one steal, and didn’t play in the last 18 minutes of the game.

Goldfields Giants (102) defeated Perth Redbacks (96)

Sierra Moore put up 36 points and 13 rebounds and Delaynie Byrne 24 and 10 but the Goldfields Giants needed every bit of it to overcome the 34 points, nine rebounds and seven assists from Sam Ashby to beat the Perth Redbacks 102-96 in overtime.

The Giants were back home at Evolution Mining Stadium having won their past two games while the Redbacks arrived in Kalgoorlie looking to bounce back from a loss to the Perry Lakes Hawks.

Goldfields managed to lead by a point at quarter-time and then build that advantage to eight in the second period but Perth then fired back to lead 50-46 by the half-time break.

The Redbacks then opened up an 11-point lead in the third frame and 12 in the fourth before it was time for the Giants to storm back and a huge three from Moore with 30 seconds to go had them up two.

Sophie Doran then knocked down two free throws for the Redbacks to level scores which sent the game to overtime and that's where Goldfields took charge with 11 points to five for the eventual six-point victory.

The Giants are now 4-2 with three wins in-a-row with Moore continue the stunning start to her first NBL1 West season with 36 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and two assists on 10/16 shooting from the field and 15/17 at the foul line.

Byrne added 24 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals, Hazelle Yam 18 points and six assists, Lexi Pana 11 points and four assists, and Rachel Pettit nine points, three rebounds and three assists.

The Redbacks slip to 2-5 on the season with Ashby continued her standout form with another 34 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

Shenae Hartree added 21 points and eight rebounds, Sophie Doran 15 points, nine assists and five boards, Aimee Borchet 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Oliva Berry 10 points and six boards.

Kalamunda Eastern Suns (66) lost to East Perth Eagles (85)

All five East Perth Eagles started scored in double figures and Jo Odude nearly had a double double off the bench with the East Perth Eagles ending up beating the Kalamunda Eastern Suns 85-66.

The Eagles arrived at Ray Owen Sports Centre having won five of six games so far in 2026 while the Suns had two wins from seven matches.

East Perth then got the better of the start with 23 points to 16 in the first quarter before that lead got out to 14 in the second period and the Eagles went into half-time leading 42-31.

East Perth retained control from there throughout the second half with another 20 points to 16 in the third term, and 23 to 19 in the fourth on the way to the 19-point victory.

The win improves the Eagles to a 6-1 record on the season with Sarah Mortensen having her best game of the season with 22 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Sydney Wright added 15 points and six assists, Jade Williams 13 points and five rebounds, Brooke Malone 13 points and 12 boards, Stacey Barr 11 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and four assists, and Jo Odude eight points and 10 boards.

The Eastern Suns are now 2-6 with the third consecutive defeat with Gaby Bronson finishing with 14 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals.

It was Ella Averill who top scored with 15 points, five rebounds and two assists with Alyssa Bowen contributing seven points and five boards, Trista Hull seven points and nine rebounds, Emma Strelein six points and six boards, and Yume Knoll six points and four assists.
