Each week the NBL1 will put a spotlight on a women’s and men’s team from each conference for a major performance, a big win or a special occasion for the club.

See the women's Teams of the Week below:

NBL1 North: Cairns Dolphins

The Cairns Dolphins pulled off an impressive 2-0 record in Round 9 against some elite NBL1 North teams.

Starting off on Friday, the young guns stood up as 17-year-old Teyahna Bond scored 17 points to send the Mackay Meteors packing. On Sunday she was the hero again, hitting a clutch dagger to give the Dolphins their second win of the weekend on the road.

NBL1 East: Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Spiders

One of three inaugural NBL1 East teams this season finally got their first win against the Hills Hornets on Saturday.

The Spiders finished the game with a 13-point win over the Hornets at home, where they held the Hills to an ice-cold 28.1 field goal shooting percentage.

Former Opals star Alicia Poto was instrumental in the win, with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. But the story of the game was Foot Locker Player of the Week, Kristina Moore, scoring 33 points with 11 rebounds to grab their first win of the season.

NBL1 South: Frankston Blues

Climbing up to fourth on the ladder, the Blues dominated the Keilor Thunder last Saturday.

Keilor may be lower on the ladder, but with the addition of NBL1 East champion Ai Yamada, the Thunder have been a dangerous team to beat.

Chloe Bibby continues to make an MVP case each week, dropping 26 points against the Thunder at home – while Louise Brown had a massive 18 points and 18 rebounds to give the Blues their eighth win of the season.

NBL1 West: Rockingham Flames

After starting the season 0-3, the Flames have bounced back significantly. Since Round 4 they have won six games in a row, claiming victory over many formidable teams like the Mandurah Magic in expert fashion.

While Tayah Burrows and Casey Samuels have kept the ship afloat, the return of Mehryn Kraker has been the x-factor they needed to turn around their season. Against the Eastern Suns on Saturday, Kraker had 29 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Kraker has played the last three games and the team has managed to win three straight before reintegrating their star player, giving them a red-hot shot at the NBL1 West Finals once again.

NBL1 Central: Sturt Sabres

It’s hard to look past the team who remains undefeated and hit a game-winner over the weekend to continue their winning streak to 11-0.

In a two-point win over the Norwood Flames, Nicola Matthews hit one of the best plays of the season to extend the Sabres’ winning run. Matthews scored a tied team-high 14 points as Halls Medal contender Mikayla Williams and Australian Gem, Tayla Brzael both contributed equally in the clutch win.
