The Ringwood Hawks did well sticking with them for the first half but the Nunawading Spectres took charge from there for a second straight thumping NBL1 South win with the 98-77 Tuesday night victory.
The Tuesday night NBL1 South action was the start of three home games across five days for the Hawks at Norwood Secondary College as they chase a first victory of the new season.
Nunawading arrived fresh off a 42-point road win over the Northern Force after a two-point loss to the Hobart Chargers the night before, and the Hawks did well making a game of it in the first half.
The Spectres were only leading by four points at the half but then put up 32 points in the third quarter on the way to the eventual 21-point win on the back of 28 free throws to eight, and 22 offensive rebounds to 13.
There were eight players from Nunawading who scored at least seven points and played at least 15 minutes in the game. Owen Lobsinger might have only played 15:41, but he was outstanding with 19 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Christian D'Angelo also had 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals, Dyson King-Hawea 15 points and seven boards, and Jack Gandolfo 14 points, three assists and two rebounds.
Joe Mutimer added 10 points and six assists, captain Daniel Baxter nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals, and Kingsley Box seven points, eight boards and three assists.
Tom Carroll had 17 points on 4/6 three-point shooting in the first half for Ringwood and finished the game with 23 points on 5/10 with five rebounds and three assists.
Chris Brandon added 11 points and six rebounds, Harry Sealey 11 points, seven assists and six boards, and Junior Garbrah seven points, three rebounds and two assists.

Ringwood did get off to an encouraging start with a six-point leading the first quarter but they were just shooting 36 per cent by quarter-time with scores all square at 20-20 with the Spectres getting a boost from Dyson King-Hawea who made all three of his shot attempts.
Owen Lobsinger might have only played eight minutes in the first half but already had 12 points to his name shooting 5/6 for Nunawading but the Hawks did well to stay in touch and 17 points with 4/6 three-point shooting from Tom Carroll was a big reason for that.
Nunawading were leading 44-40 by half-time but then the Spectres blew the game open with 32 points in the third quarter including going on a 10-0 run with 16 of those points coming inside the paint.
The Spectres went on to lead by as much as 17 points and were still up 16 at three quarter-time before Nunawading completed the job with 22 points to 17 in the last term for the 21-points including 15 of those 54 points being on the back of offensive rebounds.
The Spectres will be back in action on Saturday night at home to the Waverley Falcons while Ringwood's hectic week at home continues on Thursday against the Eltham Wildcats and then Saturday against the Northern Force.
