There were NBL1 North wins for the North Gold Coast Seahawks (two), Northside Wizards, Mackay Meteorettes, Southern Districts Spartans, Rockhampton Cyclones, Sunshine Coast Phoenix and Cairns Dolphins.

FRIDAY

Brisbane Capitals (78) lost to Northside Wizards (87)

Nes'eya Parker-Williams continues to shine in her first NBL1 North season leading the Northside Wizards to the 87-78 victory over the Brisbane Capitals.

The Caps were back home at Auchenflower Stadium with both them and the Wizards attempting to get back on the winner's list to open Round 6.

The Wizards did open up an early seven-point lead but by quarter-time that was back to just one thanks to a 7-0 run from Brisbane.

Again Northside got up eight in the second term but once again the Capitals responded and at half-time scores were all square at 39-39.

It was then just a two-point lead for the Wizards before three quarter-time before they took over with 24 points to 17 in the last term on the way to the nine-point victory.

The win improves Northside to a 3-2 record with Parker-Williams providing another 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists with 5/6 three-point shooting.

Kahlaijah Dean also had 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals on 6/8 field goal shooting and going 8/9 at the foul line.

Kelsey Ransom added 16 points, five assists and five steals, Grace Ellis 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals, and Courtney Virgo nine points, five assists and three boards.

The Capitals are now 2-6 with the loss with Ashley Harris finishing with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Alyssa Brown added 21 points, nine boards, four steals and three assists.

Townsville Flames (83) lost to Mackay Meteorettes (95)

Courtney Woods did all she could once again but it wasn’t quite enough for the Townsville Flames with Monique Bobongie starring as the Mackay Meteorettes started their road double with the 95-83 win.

The Flames were back home at Carmichael Ford Stadium having won both games of their road trip to Sunshine Coast and Northside last weekend with Woods coming up huge in both.

They were without Kate Searle as they hosted the visiting Meteorettes who had won their past four matches but it was the Flames who made the hot start for the early 11-point advantage.

But Mackay worked on top the longer the game went and ended up with the 12-point victory to make it five in-a-row and improve to a 6-1 record.

Monique Bobongie produced a monster performance for Mackay to finish with 32 points, 10 rebounds and two assists on 13/22 shooting from the field.

River Baldwin was impressive as well with 24 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and four assists with Sammie Puisis contributing 23 points and five boards, and Chelsea Brook seven points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Courtney Woods again put in a power of work for Townsville playing all but 51 seconds of the game to finish with 28 points, 12 assists, four rebounds and two steals with 4/10 three-point shooting.

Chailee Ward also finished with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Flames, Bree Stephens 12 points and five boards, Mia Murray 10 points and two assists, and Jaimee Seebohm eight points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

SATURDAY

South West Metro Pirates (68) lost to North Gold Coast Seahawks (75)

Kate Deeble and Georgia Woolley combined for 47 points to help the North Gold Coast Seahawks to a first win of the season beating the South West Metro Pirates 75-68.

The Pirates were back home at Hibiscus Sports Stadium fresh off their lone win of the season while the Seahawks arrived still chasing theirs.

It was an enterprising start from the Seahawks with 29 points to 23 in the first quarter but the Pirates kept in touch and limited the North Gold Coast lead to 43-40 by half-time.

While the Seahawks maintained their lead for all but 43 seconds of the second half when South West Metro briefly drew level, their lead never got out to more than eight points and the home team stayed in touch.

North Gold Coast still did enough to secure the seven-point victory to open their account for the season with Katie Deeble putting up 24 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Georgia Woolley also had 23 points, eight steals, four rebounds and two assists, Antoniette Emma-Nnopu 15 points and seven boards, and Charli Reece eight points, four rebounds and two assists.

South West Metro are now 1-5 following the loss with Steph Bairstow providing 19 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists with Hannah Simental adding 10 points, four boards and three assists.

Jovana Ilic also had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists, Alana Fraser eight points, and former East Perth Eagles NBL1 West captain Tessa Morrison seven points and three rebounds.

Northside Wizards (65) lost to Southern Districts Spartans (73)

The Southern Districts Spartans maintained their hold on a top two spot with the 73-65 road win against the Northside Wizards.

The Wizards were fresh off beating the Brisbane Capitals on Friday night ahead of hosting the Spartans at Northside Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday, but the home team managed just seven points in the first quarter.

Southern Districts only managed 11 themselves before the scoring rate picked up in the second term with the Spartans putting up 27 to 20 to go into half-time leading 38-27.

The Wizards got back into the contest with 19 points to 14 in the third quarter but the Spartans made sure of the win with a 7-0 run in the final quarter to end up winning by eight.

The win improves Southern Districts to a 7-1 record with Abby Solway finishing with 16 points and three assists with Jess McDowell-White adding 16 points, six assists, five steals and four rebounds.

Hayley McDowell-White also had 14 points and four rebounds, Odette Isaac nine points, seven boards and three assists, and Emily Preston seven points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Wizards are now 3-3 having split their two games this weekend with Nes'eya Parker-Williams delivering another 21 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Kelsey Ransom also had 16 points, three rebounds and two steals, Alice O'Driscoll seven points, four rebounds and two assists, Erin Harvey seven points, and Grace Ellis five points and 13 rebounds.

Gold Coast Rollers (80) lost to Rockhampton Cyclones (90)

Shanique Lucas had a huge performance for the Rockhampton Cyclones with 31 points and five triples to lead them to the perfect start to the road double beating the Gold Coast Rollers 90-80.

The Rollers hosted the Cyclones at Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium and they started well at home 24 points to 20 in the first quarter having led by eight along the way.

Rockhampton turned things back around with 23 points to 16 in the second frame to open up their own nine-point advantage before still being on top 43-40 at half-time.

The Cyclones then dominated the third frame with 26 points to nine to lead by as much as 20 and then turn that into a 10-point win ever after the Rollers managed to score 14 consecutive points.

Rockhampton improve to 1-4 having scored their first win of the season with Shanique Lucas delivering 31 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals with 5/10 three-point shooting.

Gracie Stugart also had 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds, Emily Kiser 20 points, 10 boards and three assists, and Emily Tweedy eight points and two assists.

Gold Coast are now 2-5 following the home defeat with Nyah Morris providing 22 points and three rebounds with 5/7 three-point shooting while Tara Manumaleuga also knocked down 4/7 from behind the arc for 17 points, four rebounds and two assists.

Ariana Moorer also contributed 13 points, five rebounds and four assists with Jayla Cassidy contributing 11 points, three boards and two assists.

Cairns Dolphins (84) defeated Mackay Meteorettes (81)

The Cairns Dolphins got off to a flying start but Monique Bobongie almost shot the Mackay Meteorettes to a sixth straight win before Mia Loyd, Brooke Basham and Summah Evans kept their team undefeated in the 84-81 win.

The Dolphins were back home at Trinity Ford Stadium looking to stay undefeated this season while Mackay arrived having won five straight including on Friday night in Townsville.

Cairns made a blistering start getting out to a 17-2 opening and they were still leading all night and by 13 early in the fourth quarter but the Meteorettes kept on coming.

Bobongie then hit three triples in less than a minute but Summah Evans responded and Cairns from there were able to hold on with a big block from Mia Loyd on the buzzer to secure the three-point win.

Cairns improve to 6-0 on the season as a result with the Meteorettes now 6-2 and just falling short of what would have been a sixth consecutive victory.

There were spectacular performances all-round in the win for Cairns led once again from Mia Loyd with 23 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and that massive late block.

Brooke Basham was back from Australian Gangurrus 3x3 duties and just missed a triple double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and two steals with 4/10 three-point shooting.

Then there was Summah Evans knocking down 6/9 from three-point land on the way to 26 points, seven rebounds and three steals with Teyla Evans contributing seven points, five boards and three assists, and Leichan Williams six points and four rebounds.

Monique Bobongie had a huge second half for Mackay to almost shoot her team to a sixth straight win with five rebounds and three steals with all three of her triples made coming in a minute stretch in the last quarter.

Sammie Puisis also had 23 points and eight rebounds for Mackay, River Baldwin 13 points, seven boards and three assists, Cheyenne Bobongie four points and four assists, and Hannah Jensen three points, five assists and three rebounds.

SUNDAY

North Gold Coast Seahawks (95) defeated Rockhampton Cyclones (78)

The North Gold Coast Seahawks made it back-to-back wins after coming into the weekend yet to record one for 2026 with the 95-78 home win against the Rockhampton Cyclones.

The Seahawks scored their first win of the season on Saturday night beating the South West Metro Pirates ahead of hosting the Cyclones at Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium who were also coming off a win the night before against the Gold Coast Rollers.

Both teams were trying to make it a double win weekend and it was Rockhampton with the narrow 25-24 lead by quarter-time.

The Cyclones had another 23 points to 17 in the second term to go into the half-time break on top 48-41.

North Gold Coast turned things around in the third stanza with 30 points to 12 on the way to leading by as much as 17 in the final term before securing the win by that margin.

It's a double win weekend for the Seahawks as they improve to 2-4 on the season with Georgia Woolley again starring with 28 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Jessica Boundy also had 24 points, four assists and three rebounds while landing 6/9 from behind the three-point line while Kate Deeble finished with 15 points and 12 assists.

Antoniette Emma-Nnopu also had 10 points and seven rebounds with Charlize Brown adding eight points and four boards.

Rockhampton head home having split their road double at 1-5 with Emily Kizer finishing with 27 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists while Shanique Lucas had another 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals, and Tai Wakelin-Gray 10 points and five rebounds.

Sunshine Coast Phoenix (78) defeated Ipswich Force (74)

No more than seven points separated the teams all day but eight straight from Erin Bollmann in the fourth quarter proved the difference as the Sunshine Coast Phoenix scored the 78-74 win over the Ipswich Force.

The two teams arrived at Caloundra Indoor Stadium to play their only games of the weekend and it was a tight contest all the way through.

The Phoenix did go up seven late in the third quarter only for the Force to hit back and be in front again midway through the fourth which is when Bollmann took charge starting with a four-point play before leading them to the eventual four-point victory.

The win improves Sunshine Coast to a 3-3 record on the season in the NBL1 North while Ipswich are now 2-4 following the defeat.

Erin Bollmann had a huge afternoon for Sunshine Coast including the big efforts late to win the game and she finished with 34 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals with 13/21 field goal shooting, 3/6 from deep and 5/6 at the charity stripe.

Isabel Palmer also provided 17 points and four rebounds, Maya Price 12 points, 11 boards, two assists and two steals, and Amy Browne five points and five rebounds.

Ipswich are now 2-4 following the loss despite plenty of encouraging signs with Emily Saunders leading the charge with 19 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots with 8/14 field goal shooting.

Olivia West added 16 points and six assists, Valerie Huerta 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, Georgia Ralph 12 points, seven boards, two assists and two steals, and Hannah Young four points and 11 rebounds.
