There were NBL1 North wins for the Mackay Meteorettes, Cairns Dolphins (two each), Gold Coast Rollers and Southern Districts Spartans.

The Mackay Meteorettes and Cairns Dolphins both celebrate a pair of NBL1 North road wins while the Southern Districts Spartans improve to 4-0 and the Gold Coast Rollers prevailed in the battle of the Glitter Strip.

FRIDAY
Logan Thunder (78) lost to Mackay Meteorettes (93)
The Mackay Meteorettes took control against the reigning champion Logan Thunder in the second half and got to the foul line 41 times with Cheyenne Bobongie 17 on her own as her team prevailed 93-78.
Logan were back home at Bendigo Bank Cornubia Park Sports Centre looking to keep their winning run going on the back of last season's championship having opened up 2026 winning their opening two matches.
Mackay arrived for the first of two road games this weekend having split their first two matches and then it was a tight first half with the Meteorettes up two at quarter-time before the Thunder went up three by the half.
It was all the Meteorettes from there with 50 points to 32 in the second half with 21 of those coming from the foul line as they scored the 15-point win to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Cheyenne Bobongie ended up delivering 23 points, seven assists and five rebounds for Mackay on the back of going 15/17 at the free-throw line.
Sammie Puisis added 20 points and four assists while going 4/11 from three-point land with River Baldwin contributing 17 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three blocks, and Monique Bobongie 11 points, seven boards, two assists and two steals.
Eden Catip also had nine points and two rebounds, and Chelsea Brook seven points, 10 boards and two assists.
Leah Scott finished up top-scoring for the Thunder with 28 points and five rebounds on 10/18 shooting from the floor and 7/8 at the stripe.
Vahayliah Seumanutafa added 14 points, five rebounds and two steals, Mikhaela Cann 11 points, eight assists, six boards and three steals, and Kendell Heremaia nine points, four steals and three rebounds.
Sunshine Coast Phoenix (68) lost to Cairns Dolphins (88)
Mia Loyd and Brooke Basham combined for 50 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists and six steals to lead the Cairns Dolphins to the 88-58 road win against the Sunshine Coast Phoenix.
The Dolphins had won their first two games at home and arrived at Maroochydore Stadium to take on the Phoenix for their first road game of 2026, and it was a tight battle throughout the first half.
Cairns did open up a nine-point lead in the second quarter but that was back to just four by half-time.
It was in the third quarter when the Dolphins took control with 27 points to 14 to build a 21-point lead and turn that into the eventual 20-point victory to improve to a 3-0 record.
Mia Loyd starred in the win for Cairns with 28 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals on 10/18 shooting from the field and 7/8 from the foul line.
Brooke Basham also put up 22 points with five rebounds, four steals and three assists while Summah Evans contributed 11 points and six boards, and Taryn Bond eight points and four rebounds.
Sunshine Coast are now 1-2 following the loss with Erin Bollman delivering 23 points, nine assists, four steals and two rebounds with Amy Browne adding 12 points and 11 boards, Maya Price nine points and two boards, and Isabel Palmer seven points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

SATURDAY
Northside Wizards (73) lost to Cairns Dolphins (93)
Brooke Basham caught fire in spectacular fashion with 29 first half points and 36 for the game with eight triples as the Cairns Dolphins stayed undefeated beating the Northside Wizards 93-73.
The Dolphins won their first two games at home to start the season before this weekend's road trip which began with the Friday night win against the Sunshine Coast Phoenix.
The Wizards won their first game back in the opening round also against the Phoenix but this was their first appearance since as they hosted the Dolphins at Northside Indoor Sports Centre.
Basham was brilliant with 15 points and three long balls in the first quarter, another 14 points and four threes in the second, and then Mia Loyd helped ensure the Dolphins maintained control in the second half for the 20-point victory.
Basham ended up shooting 13/19 from the field, 8/11 from beyond the arc and 2/2 at the foul line while also having five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Loyd had a standout performance once more with 22 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists on 8/13 shooting from the floor and 5/5 at the foul line.
Summah Evans also had 13 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals for the Dolphins, Teyla Evans nine points, seven boards and two blocks, and Taryn Bond six points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
It was a first loss of the season for the Wizards in just their second game with Grace Ellis having 13 points in the first quarter on her way to 19 in the game with 12 rebounds and two steals with 3/4 three-point shooting.
Nes'eya Parker-Williams added 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, Nadeen Payne 12 points, six boards and two assists, Kahlaijah Dean 11 points, four rebounds and four assists, and Kelsey Ransom nine points and three assists.
Ipswich Force (66) lost to Mackay Meteorettes (90)
The Mackay Meteorettes made it a perfect first road trip of the season with the 90-66 Saturday win against the Ipswich Force.
After splitting their first two games at home this season, the Meteorettes beat Logan Thunder on Friday night to start their road double ahead of facing the Force at Ipswich Basketball Stadium on Saturday.
Ipswich were also 1-1 coming into the weekend but it was Mackay leading by five at quarter-time and maintaining that advantage still by the half.
The Meteorettes then dominated the third quarter with 23 points to nine and then completed the deal on the 24-point win to leave for home with the two wins in the space of 24 hours to improve to 3-1.
Monique Bobongie delivered 22 pints, eight rebounds and four assists in the win with 4/8 three-point shooting while Sammie Puisis produced 21 points on 5/11 shooting from downtown.
River Baldwin also had 12 points and nine rebounds, Hannah Jensen nine points and five assists, and the Meteorettes won despite Cheyenne Bobongie going scoreless in her 20 minutes on one shot attempt.
Ipswich are now 1-2 to start the season with Olivia West finishing with 15 points and three rebounds with Georgia Ralph adding 15 points and five boards, Valerie Huerta 12 points, four boards, three assists and three steals, and Hannah Young nine points and five rebounds.
North Gold Coast Seahawks (61) lost to Gold Coast Rollers (78)
It was the battle of the Gold Coast and the Gold Coast Rollers prevailed with the 78-61 win against the North Gold Coast Seahawks.
With the Seahawks rejoining the NBL1 North in 2026, the two local rivals could resume their rivalry with North Gold Coast hunting a first win still when hosting the Rollers at Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium.
Gold Coast were leading by one at quarter-time but the Seahawks then went on an 11-0 run and by half-time were leading 36-30.
The Rollers took back over in the third frame with 22 points to 11 before another 26 to 14 in the fourth on the way to the eventual 17-point victory to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Tara Manumaleuga delivered 23 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals with 5/9 three-point shooting in the win for Gold Coast with Jayla Cassidy adding 15 points and five boards, and Ariana Moorer 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Nyah Morris also had 16 points and seven rebounds with Emma Petrie delivering nine points and 12 boards.
North Gold Coast are 0-3 on their return to the NBL1 North with Katie Deeble finishing with 18 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Charlize Brown added 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks, and Charlie Reece eight points and six boards.
Southern Districts Spartans (84) defeated Brisbane Capitals (81)
The Southern Districts Spartans just managed to avoid a first defeat of the season holding out the Brisbane Capitals late for the 84-81 home victory.
The Spartans had won their first three games of the season ahead of being back home at Rowland Cowan Stadium to host a Caps team who had just one win from their opening three games.
Southern Districts then opened up a 10-point lead in the first quarter and were up 29-22 by quarter-time before still leading 47-39 by half-time.
Brisbane turned things around with 23 points to 15 in the third term, but they could never quite assume the lead even though scores were level late.
The Spartans then scored the game's last three points all at the foul line courtesy of Jess McDowell-White for the three-point victory to improve to 4-0.
On top of those clutch free throws, Jess McDowell-White delivered 28 points, 14 rebounds and three assists with Majella Carey adding 17 points, four boards and three assists.
Abby Solway also had 16 points, two rebounds and two assists, Hayley McDowell-White 10 points, four boards and four assists, and Paige Bayliss six points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots.
The Caps are now 1-3 with a big performance from Ashley Harris made up of 26 points and 14 rebounds on 8/11 field goal shooting, 4/6 from beyond the arc and 6/6 at the free-throw line.
Alyssa Brown added 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals, and Tyla Stolberg 19 points, five boards and two assists.
