Frankston Blues have secured the services of championship-winning head coach Andrew Harms for a further three seasons, extending his tenure with the club through to the end of 2029.

Harms, who has led Frankston's senior men's program since 2017, guided the Blues to the 2026 NBL1 South Men's Championship, defeating Eltham Wildcats 78–75 in August's Grand Final.

The championship marked a breakthrough for Frankston, who had finished inside the top four in five of the previous seven seasons under Harms before securing their first NBL1 South title.

Harms is the only current NBL1 head coach in Australia to have remained at the helm of the same club since the competition's inaugural season in 2019, making him the longest-serving coach in the league.

He was also named the inaugural NBL1 Men's Coach of the Year in 2019, with his latest three-year agreement set to extend his tenure at Frankston to 13 seasons.

“I'm incredibly excited and honoured to re-sign with the Frankston Blues for a further three years. I'm sincerely grateful to Wayne and the Board for their ongoing trust, belief and support of both myself and our program,” Harms said.

“What makes Frankston special has never been about one individual. It's about the people, the relationships and a shared belief in what we can achieve together.”

Harms will continue alongside assistant coach Adam Jackson and team manager Paul Groat, maintaining continuity within the coaching group following the club's championship season.

“One of the things we value most about Frankston is the sense of family we've built within our staff and playing group. It's central to our culture and the way we support each other,” Harms said.

“We're incredibly proud of what we've achieved together and excited to continue building on those standards, while providing genuine pathways for our junior Blues through Youth League, college basketball, NBL1 and ultimately the NBL.”

Frankston Basketball CEO Wayne Holdsworth welcomed the extension, highlighting Harms' contribution to the club over the past nine years.

“Andrew Harms is a true visionary, expert tactician and outstanding player manager,” Holdsworth said.

“Andrew has continued to demonstrate over the past nine years that he is clearly an outstanding coach in the NBL1 competition.”

A former Frankston junior and senior player, Harms will now turn his attention to the Blues' 2027 title defence, with further player announcements expected in the coming months.
