Teige Morrell, Amy Atwell and Sara Puckett all scored 21 points each as the Rockingham Flames took charge in the second half to beat the Warwick Senators 99-76 to make it six straight NBL1 West wins.
It had all the hallmarks of one of the games of the season at Mike Barnett Sports Complex with Rockingham at home and having won five straight while Warwick had won three in-a-row.
That included the Senators ending the winning streak of the Cockburn Cougars stretching back to the 2024 Grand Final where ironically it was Rockingham they lost to.
It was a tight first half with Rockingham leading by a point at half-time with nothing more than five points separating the teams, but it was in the third frame where the Flames took charge.

Rockingham scored 27 points to 12 in the third quarter and 29 to 22 in the last to end up securing the 23-point victory that gives them six straight wins to improve them to a 9-2 record with the Senators now 7-4 following the defeat.
Teige Morrell was a force inside for Rockingham finishing with 21 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two blocks with 9/17 field goal shooting.
Sara Puckett then continued her impressive form with 21 points, three rebounds and two assists with 4/7 three-point shooting while Amy Atwell delivered 21 points and nine rebounds ahead of playing for the Australian Gangurrus at the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
Tiana Wilson-Palmer also added 13 points and two steals for the Flames, Stef Berberabe 10 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals, and Lesila Finau six points, nine boards, four assists and two steals.
The Senators couldn’t quite back up being the team that snapped the winning run of Cockburn last Saturday night with a 12-point third quarter ultimately being their downfall despite new import Greta Kampschroeder showing exciting signs with 23 points and four rebounds on 4/7 three-point shooting.
Chloe Forster added 16 points, five rebounds and four assists, Kiara Waite 12 points and three boards, Jayda Clark 10 points and five rebounds, and Izzy Miotti six points and two boards.

It was a tight and tense opening quarter between two top four teams and by the end of it scores were all locked at 22-22 with Teige Morrell having seven points for Rockingham and Greta Kampschroeder seven for Warwick.
It was a similar story through the second quarter and by half-time it was the Flames clinging to the 43-42 advantage with nothing more than five points separating the two teams through the entire first half.
But it was in the third quarter when the Flames made their move as they went on a 14-0 scoring run to suddenly be out to a 16-point advantage and to be on top by that margin by three quarter-time.
It was another 29 points to 22 in the last quarter from Rockingham with the lead growing to as much as 23 before the Flames went on to score the 23-point win to make it six straight wins and stay in second place.
Rockingham are now away to the Lakeside Lightning with Teige Morrell returning to her old home floor next Saturday night while the Senators will try to bounce back on Friday at home to the Mandurah Magic.
