Seven NBL1 stars come away with medal at the Comm Games

Australia has come away with four medals in the 3x3 basketball in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Seven NBL1 players came away with two medals as the men’s side took silver against England and the women's team won bronze against New Zealand.
Lauren Scherf (Kilsyth), Lauren Mansfield (Gold Coast Rollers), Marena Whittle (Ringwood) and Alex Wilson (Norwood) secured bronze against Kalani Purcell (Southern District Spartans) and the Tall Ferns.
The men's came awhile with silver in a heartbreaking overtime loss to England as Daniel Johnson (Forestville Eagles), Greg Hire (Rockingham Flames), Thomas Wright (Sandringham) and Perth Wildcats legend Jesse Wagstaff almost won the coveted gold medal.
Disaster has struck in overtime.

Both the wheelchair basketball Australian teams came away with medals as well, with the men’s winning gold while the women’s won silver at the Commonwealth Games.
