Logan Thunder won their NBL1 North Grand Final rematch by 20 points against the Southern Districts Spartans on Saturday night.

Leah Scott set the tone early with a 17-point first quarter and Logan Thunder rode that momentum the rest of the way for a sixth straight NBL1 North win beating the Southern Districts Spartans 91-71 on the road.
It was the first time the two teams have done battle since last year's Grand Final series where Logan came back from dropping the first game to win the last two for the championship as the Spartans hosted them on Saturday night at Rowland Cowan Stadium.
Southern Districts were fresh off starting the weekend with a 22-point road win over the Gold Coast Rollers but Logan shot out of the blocks opening up a 16-point lead in the first quarter with Scott scoring 17 of their 25 points.
That lead for the Thunder continued to grow throughout the evening and got out to as much as 24 in the fourth team before they settled with the 20-point victory to make it three straight wins over the Spartans.

Logan have now won six straight wins this season to improve to an 8-1 record in their championship defence while Southern Districts are 8-4 having split their double header weekend.
The Thunder ended the night shooting 49 per cent from the field to the 37 from the Spartans which allowed them to win comfortably despite both teams taking the same number of shot attempts and Southern Districts getting up two more free throws.
After that 17-point first quarter, Leah Scott finished with 27 with eight rebounds and two steals for Logan on 11/18 shooting from the field.
Mikhaela Cann added 25 points, six assists and five rebounds on 9/11 shooting with Amandine Toi contributing 20 points, two rebounds and two assists, and Prasayus Notoa five points, 11 boards and three assists.
Mikayla Cowling finished with 27 points, 14 rebounds and four assists for Southern Districts with Hayley McDowell-White providing 18 points, three boards and three assists, and Emily Preston 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.
It was a flying start on the road from Logan opening up a 16-point lead in the first quarter before leading 25-13 by the end of one with Leah Scott on fire with 17 points on 7/9 shooting.
Logan as a team went into quarter-time shooting 10/19 from the floor to the 4/17 from the Spartans despite the seven points from Mikayla Cowling.
Scoring dried up for Logan in the second term but they did still outscore the Spartans 15 points to 11 to go into half-time well in control with the 40-24 lead on the back of shooting 40 per cent from the field to the 26 from the home team.
The scoring rate then did lift in the third term with Logan putting up another 25 points on 10/20 shooting with 5/10 from downtown with Southern Districts adding 23 themselves on 10/22 shooting with Cocking adding seven more to be up to 22 points and 12 rebounds by three quarter-time.
Logan retained control through the fourth frame to lead by as much as 24 points and score the 20-point road victory to make it six in-a-row.
The Spartans now will now look to bounce back next Saturday when they host the Ipswich Force while the Thunder will play host to the South West Metro Pirates on that same evening.
