The Frankston Blues are building toward a marquee Anzac Eve showdown on Friday night and Andrew Harms has already floated a familiar name as a potential difference maker.
Speaking with David Andersen in the lead up to the clash, Harms joked the Blues might need to bring the former Frankston junior out of retirement.
“Stay loose… we might get you,” he said.
Andersen has a strong Anzac Eve record, playing a key role in Frankston’s 110 to 76 win over Dandenong in 2021.
“I did have a good game against that last time” he said.
Friday night’s clash tips off at 8:30pm and will be broadcast as the Kayo Freebies Game of the Week, setting the stage for one of the early highlights of the NBL1 South season.
“It doesn’t matter where the teams are, it’s always going to be a good challenge,” Harms said. “We could be first and they could be last, or vice versa, it’s going to be close.”
For Harms and the Blues, the focus remains on building their identity early in the season.
“It’s about establishing your DNA,” he said. “Getting our systems right, making sure we can take away some of what they do, and really focus on what we do.”
The Anzac Eve clash looms as an early season test and a chance to measure that identity in a game that always carries extra edge.
And if it comes down to it, Harms may already have a solution in mind.
