South Adelaide have completed their second signing of the off-season, inking youth Australian international Daisy Hocking to a deal for the 2027 NBL1 Central campaign.
Hocking’s first season for the Panthers was promising, averaging 9.5 points and 7 rebounds in 24 minutes per game, as the club finished fourth with a record of 11-7.
The 17-year-old represented the Australian Sapphires and won bronze at the 2026 FIBA Under-17 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Czechia, where she played alongside young WNBL talent Madi Ryan and was coached by 2026 NBL1 East champion Tom Garlepp.
With international experience under her belt, she will be looking to take her game to the next level in 2027.
Hocking had 20 points and 8 steals in a June matchup against Norwood, and this potential is something South Adelaide General Manager Simon Crowden is excited to discover further next season.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have Daisy re-sign with South Adelaide for 2027,” Crowden said.
“She’s an exceptional young talent with an incredibly bright future, and it’s been fantastic watching her development and achievements on the international stage.
“We’re excited to continue supporting her growth, both on and off the court, and firmly believe there are big things ahead for Daisy.”
The 2009-born guard joins Hannah Stewart as a confirmed Panthers player for 2027.
This looms as an important coup for the franchise as they hope to challenge NBL1 Central rivals West Adelaide and Sturt.
