The Tasmania JackJumpers have announced the signing of Cairns Marlins guard Kody Stattmann, as their guard rotation continues to be plagued by injuries during the early part of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season.
The 26-year-old Stattmann, with 61 games to his name, joins as an Injury Replacement Player, as the JackJumpers deal with the unavailability of Ben Ayre, Bryce Hamilton and Anthony Drmic.
Stattmann starred in a Marlins outfit that went unbeaten in the 2026 NBL1 North season, winning the NBL1 North MVP while averaging 24.7 points, 7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
The pick of the Marlins' performances came in a five-point win over the Gold Coast Rollers, where he had a 45-point, 14-rebound double-double.
JackJumpers General Manager of Basketball Operations Darren Smith was ecstatic with the signing, given his output this season.
"Kody Stattmann is a born-and-bred Queenslander, with basketball in his blood," Smith said.
"We're fortunate to have him replacing Drmic.
"He brings good size and versatility for his position, while his decision-making and scoring ability are key aspects of his game."
Stattmann's first chance to suit up for the JackJumpers will be when they host Melbourne United on Thursday, October 1 from 7.30pm AEST at MyState Bank Arena.
