The 2023 NBL1 offseason has produced some major moves with NBL stars, G-League players and inaugural team signings making waves over this Summer break!
Let’s break down each conference’s biggest moves below:
NBL1 North: Kyrin Galloway (Ipswich Force)
After playing with his brother, Jaylin with the Mackay Meteors, Kyrin now joins NBL1 South champion Harry Froling on the Ipswich Force for the 2023 NBL1 season.
For Mackay last season, he led the Meteors to the first round of the NBL1 North Finals, where he averaged 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds.
With some of the most explosive dunks and blocks from last season, expect another dominant NBL1 North season following his impressive NBL season with the Adelaide 36ers.

NBL1 East: Iggy Mitchell (Sydney Comets)
After playing with the Norths Bears last season, Mitchell returns to his junior club, the Sydney Comets, in their inaugural season. Last season Mitchell averaged 12.3 points, eight rebounds and 2.4 assists after a championship run with the Sydney Kings.
"They’re my hometown club and being able to play for coach Lachie Lonergan again as well was a big reason in me deciding to go back to my home,” Mitchell said.
"Being the first ever NBL1 season for Comets is definitely exciting not only for me but the club because it is essentially where I was introduced to basketball…
"[The goal is to] Hopefully win it, which might be a little rough considering it’s our first season.”
"But winning is something that in my time at Comets as a junior was always a goal we achieved, so being able to replicate that at the senior level is definitely something we’ll be looking to do."
NBL1 South: Dillon Stith (Waverley Falcons)
After leading the Frankston Blues to the Coles Express NBL1 National Finals Championship Game, the NBL champion has moved to the Waverley Falcons for the 2023 NBL1 season.
After averaging 16 points and seven rebounds last season, Stith heads to Waverley has their major steal for the off-season. While Frankston has reloaded for this coming season with Brad Newley, the Falcons have also signed Ryan Dean for the men’s squad.

NBL1 Central: Mitch McCarron (West Adelaide Bearcats)
After a massive season leading the Northside Wizards to the NBL1 North Semi-Finals, McCarron will stay in Adelaide and play for the Bearcats this season.
With the Wizards, McCarron averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists alongside his now-Bearcats teammate Anthony Drmic. After the birth of his daughter Kora, McCarron has set his roots in South Australia and will be one of the superstars of the NBL1 Central conference this season.
NBL1 West: Courtney Alexander II (Cockburn Cougars)
A collegiate star with Tennessee Tech and former G-League player with the OKC Blue, Courtney Alexander II will be one of the young breakout stars this NBL1 West season.
In college, Alexander II averaged 7.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and two assists in his senior year. Most recently playing overseas in Europe, Alexander averaged 19.2 points in the Bulgarian league with Yambol in 2021.
The athletic, 6’8 forward can jump out of the gym and should be a key piece in the Cougars’ chances to make the finals once again. Cockburn lost by two against the Warwick Senators in the Semi-Finals.
