Goldfields Giants duo Delaynie Byrne and Sierra Moore combined for 44 points and 22 rebounds to lead them to a first road win of the NBL1 West season with a dominant second half to beat Perry Lakes Hawks 89-65.
Both teams were looking to respond to Saturday night defeats with the Hawks going down to the East Perth Eagles while the Giants lost to the Perth Redbacks in their first road game of 2026.
It was a tight battle through the first half with the Giants up by three at quarter-time and by four at the half, but the visitors took over from there outscoring Perry Lakes 44 points to 24 in the second half to win by 24 and improve to 2-2 in the process.

The Giants return home having split their first double-header road trip for the season and their import duo delivering standout performances to offer a glimpse of what they will be capable throughout 2026.
Sierra Moore provided another 24 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and three assists on 10/18 shooting from the floor with Delaynie Bryne delivering 20 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks with 7/8 free-throw shooting and pulling down six offensive boards.
Lexi Pana chimed in with 15 points and five assists as well with Chloe Zorzi contributing 14 points on 6/9 field goal shooting, and Rachel Pettit nine points with four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
The Hawks are now 1-4 to open the season but again you couldn’t question the work ethic of Bridgette Rettstatt who had another 14 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.
Mia Bailey added 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Ellie Newman eight points and two assists, Maddy Zugna eight points and four boards, and Mila Wawszkowicz seven points, six rebounds and five assists.
Both teams were coming off losses the previous night to East Perth and Perth respectively and nothing more than three points separated the pair in the opening quarter.
By the end of it the Giants were clinging to the 26-23 advantage with the two teams combining for 13 second chance points.
Goldfields did manage to open up an 11-point lead in the second quarter and by half-time were leading thanks to 14 points from Sienna Moore, 11 from Chloe Zorzi and Rachel Pettit nine on the back of three triples.
However, Perry Lakes were hanging around with Bridgette Rettstatt's nine points and eight rebounds instrumental in that with the Giants heading into half-time with the 45-41 lead.
Goldfields took further control in the third quarter with 20 points and more importantly holding Perry Lakes to just nine with the Hawks only shooting 4/16 from the field for the term without getting to the free-throw line.
That lead for the Giants blew out to 28 points in the final quarter thanks to a 16-0 run and they will return home to Kalgoorlie feeling good following the 24-point win to improve to 2-2 on the season.
The Giants now return home the next two weeks to host the Willetton Tigers and then the Perth Redbacks while Perry Lakes will be back at Bendat Basketball Centre against the Redbacks this Saturday.
