Kings complete backcourt with signature of U20s MVP

The Sydney Kings have announced another roster move amidst a busy offseason, signing promising 191cm guard Bailey Hanson as a development player for NBL27.

The 18-year-old signed a one-year deal on Monday after a strong year in his first full season of NBL1, playing 21 games for the Norths Bears in the NBL1 East where he averaged 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 24 minutes per outing.

The 2008-born Hanson was a standout in an early season affair against Bankstown, leading his team to a 16-point win with a season-high 24 points in 30 minutes.

Hanson’s potential extends beyond his NBL1 East campaign, representing the Australian Emus at the U18 FIBA Asian Cup, where he averaged over seven assists as a facilitator, delivering 13 dimes in the semi-final against Korea.

He was also named MVP at the U20 Australian National Championships whilst playing for New South Wales, sitting in the top three at the tournament for points (#3), and assists (#2).

Hanson's Kings will start their NBL27 campaign on Sunday, September 20 at home against the Cairns Taipans.
