The Wildcats took on the second placed Launceston Tornadoes on Saturday night with Kelsey Griffen (former #3 WNBA draft pick) suiting up for her first game. The first quarter went back and fourth with multiple lead changes as both teams fought to gather momentum and control of the game. The second period saw a tale of two stories as Launceston dominated the first five minutes of play while Eltham controlled the final five minutes of action going into the main break with a 47-43 advantage.

The Tornadoes dominated the third quarter with well executed offences and stifling defence as the visitors pushed the lead out to as much as 11 points. Eltham fought back, hustling down loose balls, grabbing rebounds and knocking down shots as a 2-point basket from A. Maley at the end of the quarter tied the game up 69-69.

The fourth quarter was everything you expected from these two teams. Multiple lead changes, big plays and elite execution made throughout the final minutes of play. Both teams made numerous clutch free throws as Kelsey Griffen calmy iced the game from the free throw line netting 2/2 securing a 4 point win for the visitors.

Coach Grant Spencer said "Tough game to lose at home, was a high quality game. Looking forward to bouncing back next week with big games against Diamond Valley and Knox."
