OneFortyOne Pioneers Split Round 7 Victorian Road Double

The OneFortyOne Pioneers returned home from Victoria on the weekend with an important split of results across Round 7 of the 2026 NBL1 South season. Taking the first of our double header against the Bendigo Braves before falling to Eltham Wildcats in a high-scoring Sunday contest.
The OneFortyOne Pioneers produced one of their most complete performances of their 2026 campaign on Saturday night, defeating Bendigo Braves 95-69 at Red Energy Arena.
After Bendigo opened strongly to lead 28-21 at quarter time, the Pioneers responded emphatically across the remainder of the contest. Mount Gambier controlled the game from the second quarter onwards, outscoring the Braves 74-41 over the final three terms to secure the convincing 26-point victory and snap a four-game losing streak.
Ti’Ian Boler led the way offensively with 23 points, four rebounds and three steals on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting performance, while Grace Champion added 20 points, six rebounds and four steals in another strong showing.
Lara Edmanson continued her consistent form with 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Carla Pittman flirted with a triple-double after finishing with 15 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
Import Abigail Prohaska also made an immediate impact in her club debut, contributing 11 points, five assists and three steals.
Mount Gambier shot an impressive 53 per cent from the field while also winning the rebound battle 43-36 and finishing with 26 assists in a polished offensive display.
Backing up less than 24 hours later, the Pioneers fought hard but were unable to overcome Eltham Wildcats, falling 97-90 at Montmorency Secondary College.
Eltham entered the clash fresh off a week’s break and capitalised on their energy late in the game, despite several strong Mount Gambier fightbacks throughout the afternoon.
The Wildcats opened up an 18-point lead during the third quarter before the Pioneers rallied to close the margin, however Eltham again responded in the final period to secure the seven-point win.
Carla Pittman again starred for Mount Gambier with an outstanding all-round performance of 25 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals while shooting 9-of-15 from the field.
Ti’Ian Boler added another 20 points and seven rebounds, while Abigail Prohaska impressed again with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in her second game for the club.
Grace Champion contributed 14 points, while Lara Edmanson added nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Eltham was led by Lil Dart who caught fire early and finished with 31 points, eight assists and five rebounds, while Bec Pizzey added 19 points and Mackenzie Smith contributed 18.
The split result sees the OneFortyOne Pioneers return home with a 6-5 record heading into the next phase of the 2026 NBL1 South season.
