North Spotlight | Anderson shoots Ipswich to big win

The Ipswich Force were already in control and then put up 40 points in the last quarter to end up beating the Northside Wizards on Sunday by 40.

Lachlan Anderson scored 21 of the 40 Ipswich Force points in the fourth quarter on the way to the 121-81 thumping home NBL1 North win against the Northside Wizards on Sunday.
It was the only game of the round for both teams when they met on Sunday afternoon at Ipswich Basketball Stadium with the Force coming into the contest having won three straight with the Wizards trying to bounce back from a loss to the Sunshine Coast Phoenix.
It was in the second quarter when Ipswich made their move with 33 points to 19 to go into half-time leading 56-40.
That advantage was only out to 18 by three quarter-time but then Anderson delivered a scorching fourth quarter with 21 points and four triples and Ipswich put up 40 as a team on the way to the 40-point victory.

The win improves the Force to a 6-4 record on the season with four consecutive victories on the back of shooting 58 per cent from the field and 16/34 from downtown along with 21/26 at the foul line while also having just nine turnovers.
For three quarters it was Sam McDaniel and Lamar Patterson leading the way for Ipswich, but all of a sudden Lachlan Anderson exploded in the fourth quarter.
He scored 21 points in the fourth term along including hitting four three-pointers on his way to 40 for the game with five rebounds and four assists on 7/12 shooting from behind the arc.
McDaniel still finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds and two assists on 6/6 shooting from three-point territory with Patterson adding 20 points, four steals, two boards and two assists, Merrick Small 11 points and six rebounds, and Will Mahoney 11 points, two assists and two steals.
It was a tough afternoon in the finish for Northside as they slip to a 3-7 record with shooting just 36 per cent from the field and 9/33 from deep despite going 20/31 at the foul line while they pulled down 17 offensive rebounds but had 18 turnovers.
Quintin Dove top scored once again with 26 points and five rebounds with 8/23 shooting from the field, 3/13 from downtown and 7/8 at the charity stripe.
Jed Richardson also had 14 points and six rebounds, Tyler Williams 11 points, five assists, four boards and two steals, and Durrell McDonald seven points, four rebounds and three assists.

It was a lone appearance of the weekend for both teams s they came into eh clash fresh and it was a tight battle in the first quarter with the Force leading narrowly 23-21 by quarter-time.
Sam McDaniel already had eight points and Lamar Patterson even for them to lead by two at the first break with the Wizards shooting 8/20 from the field and having both four offensive rebounds and four turnovers.
Ipswich then really started to put their foot down in the second frame by piling on 33 points on 11/17 shooting from the field and 5/8 from beyond the arc along with 6/8 at the foul line.
McDaniel added another 13 points and Patterson six for them to be leading 56-40 by half-time with the Wizards shooting 15/36 from the field but having eight turnovers going into half-time despite the 13 points from Quintin Dove.
Ipswich only stretched their lead by another two points to be leading 81-63 by three quarter-time but then the Force put in a blistering final term.
Ipswich scored 40 points in the final 10 minutes on 12/18 shooting from the floor and 6/10 from downtown along with 10/11 at the free-throw line.
Lachlan Anderson delivered 21 of those 40 points for Ipswich in the last quarter for them to end up scoring the 40-point victory to make it four on the trot.
Ipswich are next in action on the road to the Southern Districts Spartans on Saturday night while Northside will attempt to hit back against the Gold Coast Rollers next Sunday who are fresh off a 136-point outburst back on Friday night.
