NBL1 stars lead Gangurrus to Commonwealth Games medal finishes

The Women's and Men's Australian Gangurrus 3x3 teams have claimed Gold and Silver medals respectively at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. 

With NBL1 strongly represented in each side, the Aussies cruised into their respective gold medal games, where the Women comfortably defeated Uganda 21-11, though the Men unfortunately fell short with a 19-17 defeat against England. 

All four Women's stars who took home gold represented NBL1 clubs during the 2026 season, while three of our Men's players joined Perth Wildcats NBL veteran Jesse Wagstaff on the way to their silver medal finish. Those players are listed below:

The finishes contributed to what is now Australia's most successful Commonwealth Games finish in history, storming past their previous best medal tally at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
