Last weekend saw our Frankston Blues take the court for the first time since the March 2020 lockdowns.

For the Men, it was a tough two games without big-men Callum Barker, Daniel Trist, and Dillon Stith, but on a positive note, multiple Youth League players rose to the occasion to fill the void.

In their first game against Waverley Falcons, the Blues went down 81-90.

Notably, Lucas Barker poured on 18 points, while Lachlan Barker scored 16 points and Igor Hadziomerovic scored 12 points.

In their second game is was a similar result, with the Blues Men going down to the Albury Wodonga Bandits 80-82.

Lucas Barker continued where he left off in the first game, scoring the first 9 points for the Blues, before finishing with 11 points.

He was supported by Lachlan Barker with 18 points, Alister Macdonald with 9 points, and Tom Garrett with 8 points.

The Women had a positive weekend with two wins, even without the full roster.

First, the Blues Women claimed a 23 point victory over the Eltham Wildcats 78-55.

Taylah GIliam scored 19 points but it was the sharp shooting of Samara Hil that really impressed with 4 three-pointers in the first half.

Tori Jackson then kicked on in the second half finishing with 12 points, while Ella Batish finished with 13 points.

In a significantly closer second game, the Women claimed another victory, with a 64-63 win over the Mount Gambier Pioneers.

Samara Hill exploded for 25 points while Taylah Giliam and Tori Jackson both hit double digits with 11 and 10 points respectfully.

The NBL1 South 2021 Season starts April 17th as the Frankston Blues take on the Nunawading Spectres.
