NBL1 South 2024 champion Foxwell heads to badgers

Owen Foxwell, a NBL1 South 2024 champion with the Eltham Wildcats, has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers.

Foxwell starred with the Wildcats during the 2024 NBL1 South season, playing a key role in the club’s championship run.

He delivered a standout performance in the 2024 Grand Final, finishing with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Across the 2024 season, Foxwell averaged 20.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.0 steals, earning Eltham’s Club MVP in a dominant campaign.

The guard’s rise began with his NBL1 South Youth Player of the Year award in 2022, before building a strong three season body of work with the Wildcats.

Foxwell has featured prominently at the next level, starting for the South East Melbourne Phoenix during the NBL 2025/26 season, where he averaged 11.0 points, 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Foxwell now joins fellow NBL1 South and NBL1 National Finals champion Austin Rapp (formerly Knox Raiders) at Wisconsin, with the 2023 title winner and Youth Player of the Year already part of the program.
