NBL1 East: Inner West Bulls

At the end of Round 2 the Inner West Bulls were an even 1-1 on the ladder, but since then they have gone on a seven-game win streak to rocket up to first on the ladder in the NBL1 East.

With the additions of imports Chris Braynt and Blake Morrow with the pair averaging over 19 points per game each, making the Bulls look like a contender in the East.

NBL1 North:

The Logan Thunder finished Round 5 with a 5-1 record and they have to thank Majok Deng.

Deng averaged 35.5 points and 10 rebounds across two games, with the Thunder making a statement up North as one of the top teams in the competition.

The addition of two-time NBL Champion Shaun Bruce has elevated the team to a new level, he is averaging 8.8 assists and has been the conductor the team was looking for.

Between Deng, Bruce and former Brisbane Bullets DP Rasmus Bach – the Thunder have shown they mean business this season.

NBL1 West: Cockburn Cougars

The Cockburn Cougars celebrated a major milestone this weekend, Gavin Field reached his 300th game and had a game to celebrate.

The six-time club MVP brought the team a win against the Lakeside Lightning with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Making his debut in the SBL in 2007, Field spoke to Chris Pike about the lead-up to his milestone.

"It actually does mean a lot. It might have been five or six years ago now, but before I even hit 200 I said to my wife that 300 is my number," Field said.

"I thought it sounded like a great number to get to and I felt if I played 300 then I would be happy, that would be my goal. It just sounds good and I know I'm only one of 40-something people to do it in the league and probably only one of 10 or so people to do it with one club.

NBL1 South: Sandringham Sabres

After a long going rehab with a back injury, Dane Pineau is finally back on the court and is dominating once again.

The Sabres beat the Eltham Wildcats by 14 points at home and Pineau was outstanding, dropping 22 points and pulling down 19 points while shooting 78 percent from the field!

With the addition of Ben Ayre, the pair will make a formidable duo in the NBL1 South. Sandringham will attempt to climb the ladder throughout the rest of the season as they sit seventh with a 4-3 record under coach David Barlow.
