In the midst of what has been an outstanding season so far, 17-year-old Eastern Suns star Marley Sam has signed a three-year Development Player deal with the Perth Wildcats.
Sam has enjoyed a breakout season in NBL1 West this year, averaging 21.5 points, 5.7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game.
Leading the way for the Suns across multiple huge performances, Sam has proven to be a game-winner with great composure and and unbelievable eye for the basket at his age.
Sam dropped a season-high of 40 points in a stunning performance against the Warwick Senators on June 19th, though arguably his most impactful display came against the Mandurah Magic on May 16th where he finished with 37 points, and dropped 16 of them in the final quarter, to lead his team to a come-from-behind victory.
Sam joins an exciting Perth Wildcats lineup, jumping straight into their backcourt alongside NBL1 single-game scoring record holder Elijah Pepper, as well as young gun Jaron Rillie.
