With the departure of club stalwart Andrew Simons, the Forestville Eagles have revealed Adelaide 36ers assistant Kerry Williams as the successor for the club's men's program, signing on as head coach for the 2027 NBL1 Central season.
The former Taipan brings a strong amount of coaching experience to the NBL1 Central champions, having spent four seasons coaching at the Taipans, a club where his involvement stretches back to his teenage years as part of their academy.
In his NBL career, which lasted between 2008 and 2013, Williams averaged 4.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.8 steals per game.
He started his career strongly, averaging 6.2 points in 18 minutes per game as a 21-year-old rookie.
The now 39-year-old was appointed head coach of the Cairns Marlins in their first season in the NBL1 North conference, and was an assistant coach for the Australian Boomers at the FIBA Qualifier in February 2021.
A part of the basketball fabric in Cairns, Williams has extensive experience across Basketball Queensland and in player development.
As the reigning champions of NBL1 Central, and having fallen short in their pursuit of a National Finals title in 2026, Forestville will hope Williams is the answer as they embark on a new chapter in attempting to defend their NBL1 Central crown.
