How Good Is He?

Every now and then a talent comes along that sets the bar for young players entering into a league! 

Kobe McDowell-White has lifted that bar significantly for  young players wishing to break through into an NBL1 roster.  Kobe had an incredible  performance against a talented Sunshine Coast Phoenix team which was ironically knocked out of the championship race in last years QSL  championship in the semi final by older brother Will McDowell-White's game winner!

The normal expectation for  a 17 y.o. is to play a cameo role towards the end of a quarter or maybe gain some experience in junk time  when the score and time allows a coach to blood his players. The expectation is to let a young player adjust to the speed and pace of the game at a higher level until he is comfortable.

This is not the case with Kobe McDowell-White!

Not only does he handle the speed and pace of the game but he  manipulates it, at his will! He can play fast, he can play slow, he understands his players around him (it helps having his brother DJ there with him) and he has been able to get understanding of what is needed at the defensive side of the ball against some seasoned veterans  with NBL experience

His stat line against the  Sunshine Phoenix was good to look at  and his game even more so!

Check this out - 5 of 5 from inside the arc, 5 of 7 from the three point line, 3 of 3 from the foul line, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 5 assists for 28points in 33:30 minutes!
