The Forestville Eagles have announced the re-signing of 2024 Grand Final MVP, Greg Mays, on a one-year deal for the 2027 NBL1 Central season.
The two-time NBL1 Central champion had an integral role as Andy Simons' men went on to win an NBL1 Central championship in 2026, leading the team in scoring, averaging 20.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game.
The 33-year-old Mays was ultra-consistent, scoring in double digits in every fixture, with his 33-point, 13-rebound game against Norwood a standout.
Against the Flames, Mays shot 14/17 from the floor, adding 6 offensive rebounds, a steal and a block.
The athletic big was also pivotal in Forestville's impressive showing at the 2026 NBL1 National Finals, collecting 17.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest, despite falling short to the Gold Coast Rollers in the Grand Final.
Mays' re-signing marks what will be his seventh season in blue and yellow, and for the Eagles, his return is welcomed as they enter a new chapter in 2027.
The Forestville men's program has welcomed current Adelaide 36ers Assistant Coach Kerry Williams as men's Head Coach, given Andy Simons' departure.
Another departure for the Eagles is 2026 NBL1 Central Grand Final MVP Alex Starling to rivals Woodville.
