The Nunawading Spectres have announced that Paul Flynn will return as Head Coach of their NBL1 Women’s team for the 2026 season.
Flynn’s reappointment follows a 2025 campaign that saw the Spectres remain competitive while continuing to promote players from within the Nunawading Basketball pathway, including Zoe Shanahan, Teagan Potter, Natalie Kerian and Taia McMechan.
“I’m proud of the way our group continued to compete and represent the Nunawading Spectres brand last season,” Flynn said. “The challenge for us now is to raise the standard every day, in everything that we do. As a team, we have to care about doing things the right way, and that’s the foundation of everything we build on.”
Flynn said he was looking forward to building on that foundation heading into 2026.
“I’m excited to continue leading this group. We’ve got a strong core of players who are committed to doing things the right way and an exciting wave of young talent coming through. Our goal is simple — to compete every possession, represent our club with pride, and keep moving this program forward.”
The Spectres will now turn their attention to preparations for the upcoming NBL1 South 2026 season under Flynn’s continued guidance.
The NBL1 South 2026 season tips off on Friday 27th March 2026. For all the latest updates, including player signings, coaching appointments and league news, make sure you’re following NBL1 South on Facebook and Instagram.
