The Eltham Wildcats would like to announce the signing of Deng Kuany for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season.

Kuany is a 6’7 forward from Melbourne who in 2021 played NBL1 West (WA) for the Goldfield Giants where he showed off his offensive and defensive versatility averaging 12.9 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 1.5 spg. His length, athleticism and active defence will make him a welcome addition to our men’s team.

Prior to that Deng played for the South Sudan national team in FIBA African Championship Qualifiers on the back of a two-year stint in college basketball with Eastern New Mexico University where he played 52 games before graduating in 2020.

Coach Craig Stratford is thrilled with the new addition to his group.

“Deng is an exciting addition to our club. He is a high level defender who also has the ability to make an impact at the offensive end too. Since joining the group Deng has showed he will be a great fit both on and off the floor.

“We are really excited for the season to start and for our Wildcat fans to see Deng in action.”

Deng will join Josh Sykes, Mitch Dance, Sam Short and the rest of our Wildcat team in action when the 2022 NBL1 South season tips off Saturday night (April 23rd) against the Nunawading Spectres at the Nunawading Basketball Centre
