Austin Shelley signs with Frankston Blues

The Frankston Blues have announced the signing of guard Austin Shelley for the NBL1 South 2026 season.

A Gippsland product, Shelley returns to his home state of Victoria after spending 2025 with the Mount Gambier Pioneers in South Australia, where he averaged 12.5 points, 2.4 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. A consistent perimeter scorer, he also connected on almost two three-pointers per outing (1.96).

Shelley’s play earned him selection in the NBL1 South Select team that faced the Adelaide 36ers during the NBL Pre-Season, while he has also gained valuable experience as a training player with both the Cairns Taipans and South East Melbourne Phoenix in the NBL.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Frankston, playing alongside guys I’ve battled against for years, and seeing how we gel together as a team,” Shelley said.

“The atmosphere the fans have brought has always been amazing. It’ll be great to finally experience it as part of the Blues.”
