NBL1 South: Bendigo Braves
The Bendigo Braves are back for revenge this season.
After losing to the Ringwood Hawks in the NBL1 South Grand Final last year, Megan McKay’s Braves are back on the court dominating.
The Foot Locker Player of the Week had an outrageous 31 points, 16 rebounds and five assists against the Ballarat Miners. Teammate Kelly Wilson dished out 14 dimes in the clash to show the Braves mean business once again this season.
NBL1 Central: Norwood Flames
Fresh off a first-place finish in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, Ally Wilson returned to the Norwood Flames in style with a triple-double.
Finishing with 12 points, 16 rebounds and 12 assists, the NBL1 Central star led her Flames to the 56-point win over the Lions on Thursday.
NBL1 West: Eastern Suns
The Eastern Suns have had a tough couple of years but the 2023 team has come out the gate roaring with back-to-back wins in Round 1 and 2.
NBL1 West expert Chris Pike said they have been a surprise so far during the early stages of the conference, and credits it to Makailah Dyer. With 26 points against the Redbacks on Thursday, the Suns are in a great position to improve from seasons past.
