The Joondalup Wolves have re-signed Reece Maxwell for the 2021 NBL1 West season.
The 6’1” guard has played with the Wolves since 2009 and has only missed the 2015 season while competing in the AFL TV series called The Recruit where he just missed out on the top three positions. After playing a season with the Claremont Football Club, Maxwell found his way back to the Wolves and some would say had his best season in the 2020 West Coast Classic.
“There wasn't any decision to make, I'd play for the Wolfpack even if we got put in the local lawn bowls comp. NBL1 West sounds promising, and the idea of a National Championships is great,” Maxwell said.
Wolves CEO and men’s head coach Andrew Summerville is thrilled to have Maxwell back.
“Having Maxi back for next year is huge for our program,” Summerville said.
“I call him the swiss army knife of our team. He can do anything, has multiple uses and comes in handy when you really need him.
“He plays every position on the floor and if it was up to him, he would play them all at the same time. He is a great defender that can guard bigger or smaller guys and has an uncanny knack of scoring the ball and hitting big shots.
“He is exciting to watch and fun to coach. He is a good communicator with me as the coach and always keeps me accountable.”
Maxwell will be joining Lochlan Cummings and Seb Salinas on the Wolves 2021 men’s roster.
