The Joondalup Wolves have announced the re-signing of former Perth Lynx player Izzy Miotti for the 2021 NBL1 West season.
Miotti has competed in the SBL since 2015 and started her professional career with the Perth Lynx in 2017. She joined the Wolves in 2019 and continued to play a further season in 2020 in the West Coast Classic (WCC) competition.
During the WCC, Miotti averaged 11 points and five rebounds and made some huge steps in developing her IQ and ability to play the point guard position, as she helped the Wolves win the 2020 WCC
“It was a no brainer resigning with the Wolves,” Miotti said.
“The way we play basketball is fun and our success is a testament to the fact that there’s not a selfish player on the team. The Wolfpack feel like family to me now and I can’t wait to compete for another Championship with them this season.”
Joondalup women’s coach Charles Nix believes Miotti’s re-signing is a key one for the club.
“Izzy has been an integral piece of our program in the last couple of seasons and a massive part of the success we have had,” Nix said.
“When you consider how young she is and the development that is still to come from her it’s really exciting to think about the impact she can have at the Wolves moving forward.
“You won’t find a player that has worked harder in the off season, her body type has changed, and she is so much faster and stronger than last year. Her athleticism is a real challenge for opposition teams to deal with so we can’t wait to see her back in green.”
Miotti will be joining Kayla Steindl and Nes’eya Williams on the Wolves women’s roster in 2021.
