There were NBL1 West Heritage Round wins for Joondalup Wolves, Warwick Senators, East Perth Eagles, Mandurah Magic, Perry Lakes Hawks, Rockingham Flames and Goldfields Giants.

Joondalup Wolves shocked Cockburn Cougars with Kyana Weir, Stacey Barr, Sharn Hayward, Mikayla Pivec, Jordana Reisma, Makenna Marisa, Sara Puckett, Teige Morrell, Sierra Moore and Delaynie Byrne all starring in NBL1 West Heritage Round wins.

Cockburn Cougars (80) lost to Joondalup Wolves (85)

After not losing in 18 months, the Cockburn Cougars fell to a second loss in three weeks with the Joondalup Wolves showing their potential with the impressive 85-80 road victory.

The Cougars were back home at Wally Hagan Stadium having hit back from their 30-game win streak being snapped two weeks ago by Warwick by putting in a strong showing to beat the Perry Lakes Hawks.

The Wolfpack arrived having won just three of 11 games of the season, but having a more talented squad than that suggests and they offered a glimpse into that with 23 points to 15 in an encouraging opening quarter against the defending champions.

The Wolves then got out to a 10-point lead in the second term and they were still clinging to the 35-34 half-time advantage.

Cockburn did manage to work back in front in the third quarter and if history over the past couple of years told you anything, it would suggest the Cougars would go on with the job from there.

But Joondalup had arrived on a mission and hit back and then in a huge fourth quarter from both teams combining for 67 points, the Wolves had the answers with 34 of those themselves to end up winning by five to make a statement of what they are capable of.

Kim Pierre-Louis starred in the win for the Wolfpack with 25 points, 10 rebounds and two assists but she received plenty of help including Asianae Johnson putting up 17 points, three assists and two boards.

Rosie Deegan continues to show what she can do after a tough run of injury since returning from college with 15 points and five rebounds with Ella Thornton-Elliott adding 12 points on 4/8 three-point shooting, and Perth Lynx WNBL import Yemiyah Morris nine points, 14 rebounds and two blocks.

Cockburn are now 8-2 after a second loss in three weeks with Darcee Garbin finishing with 22 points, four rebounds and two assists on 6/13 three-point shooting.

Jewel Williams added 19 points, five rebounds and five assists, Cierra Walker nine points and two assists, and Daniel Raber seven points, five boards and two assists.

Warwick Senators (98) defeated Mandurah Magic (83)

Kyana Weir had 16 of the Warwick Senators' 57 points in a dominant first half that saw them hit back from a tough loss to move back into the top four with the 98-83 Heritage Round win over the Mandurah Magic.

The Senators honour their history once a season by heading back to Herb Graham Recreation Centre for a home game and Friday night was that occasion for 2026 as part of Heritage Round as they looked to rebound from last Saturday's loss to the Rockingham Flames.

Mandurah arrived also fresh off beating the Perth Redbacks but it was the Senators who made the strong start with 30-20 in the first quarter while limiting the Magic to just 12 shot attempts and forcing them into 12 turnovers.

By half-time, Weir was up to 16 points with 4/5 three-point shooting and Warwick ended up leading by as much as 20 and then withstood an 18-0 run from the Magic on the way to the 15-point victory.

The win improves Warwick to an 8-4 record on the season at least for now move back into fourth place before the Goldfields Giants have the chance to replace them again with Mandurah now sitting at 5-5 at the exact halfway point of their season.

Weir delivered a breakout performance with a season-best 26 points with 6/10 three-point shooting in the win for Warwick with Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard adding 18 points and eight steals to help the Magic to rack up their 22 turnovers.

New import Greta Kampschroeder was playing her fourth game and she put up 16 points with 4/8 three-point shooting while Jayda Clark contributed 14 points, 12 boards and six assists, and Chloe Forster 14 points, 12 assists, eight rebounds and three steals.

Mikayla Pivec only just missed a third triple double in her sixth appearance with Mandurah finishing with 21 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.

Claire Jacobs was back into the starting line-up and produced 28 points, four assists, three steals and two rebounds on 4/7 three-point shooting with Sharn Hayward producing 13 points with 4/9 shooting from behind the arc.

SATURDAY

Mandurah Magic (111) defeated South West Slammers (68)

Jordana Reisma made her first start with the Mandurah Magic and had a double double, Mikayla Pivec had another triple double and Sharn Hayward put up 32 points as they beat the South West Slammers 111-68.

The Magic were looking to bounce back from the loss to the Warwick Senators the night before as they returned home to Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre to host a Slammers team coming into the round inside the top eight.

Reisma made her debut the night before and then was into the starting five in her second appearance with Mandurah then starting well with 31 points to 23 in the opening quarter.

The Magic added another 33 points to 26 in the second term to head into half-time on top 64-49.

It was then another 35 to 12 in the third quarter as the Mandurah lead got out to as much as 43 in the final period before they second the 43-point win to improve to a 6-5 record.

Jordana Reisma celebrated her first start with Mandurah with 24 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and two assists on 9/13 field goal shooting with Mikayla Pivec having another triple double made up of 13 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

Sharn Hayward then top scored with 32 points and two assists with 9/13 three-point shooting with Claire Jacobs adding 13 points, seven boards and six assists, and Jade Gowland 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.

The Slammers are now 3-7 following the road loss with Marshaun Bostic producing 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists with Bri Bailey adding 17 points, four boards and four assists, and Melanie Hoyt 13 points, six rebounds and two assists.

East Perth Eagles (96) defeated Perth Redbacks (83)

East Perth Eagles captain Stacey Barr reminded everyone she deserves to still be in the MVP discussion in 2026 putting the team on her back in the 96-83 home win against the Perth Redbacks.

The Eagles were back home at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre where they are undefeated in 2026 but without two-time champion Sarah Mortensen.

They did welcome in McKenna Dale for the first time but she last just 44 seconds before going out injured but the Eagles had all the answers against the Redbacks on the back of 34 points to 16 in the opening quarter.

That lead for East Perth got out to 23 points in the second quarter and stayed around that mark for most of the second half before they completed the 13-point victory.

The Eagles are now 5-00 at home so far this season and improve to a 9-2 record overall with Barr ending up with a huge night made up of 32 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals on 6/12 three-point shooting.

Brooke Malone was up against her former team for the first time and delivered 23 points, 11 rebounds, six steals and two assists too with Sydney Wright contributing 13 points and four assists.

Jade Williams added 10 points, six rebounds and two assists, and Ari Van Vliet 10 points and eight boards.

The Redbacks are now 2-8 following the fifth consecutive defeat with Patty Brossmann top scoring with 21 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and two steals.

Sam Ashby added another 19 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals, Shenae Hartree 10 points and three boards, and Olivia Berry nine points and four rebounds.

Kalamunda Eastern Suns (66) lost to Perry Lakes Hawks (76)

Makenna Marisa showed that she's capable of keeping the Perry Lakes Hawks right in the playoff hunt the rest of 2026 with 27 points in her team's 76-66 road win against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

Both the Suns and Hawks came into the match up at Ray Owen Sports Centre outside the top eight and trying to break in with the home team starting the better with 18 points to 12 in the opening quarter having led by as much as 12 along the way.

Kalamunda then put up another 24 points to 15 in the second frame to be up by as much as 18 and still leading 42-27 by half-time.

The Eastern Suns were still in front most of the third quarter but Perry Lakes had picked up the momentum with 24 points to 13.

The Hawks continued that on in the final term with another 25 to 11 on the way to the 10-point win having been down 18 in the third quarter to improve to a 3-8 record.

Makenna Marisa starred in the win for Perry Lakes with 27 points, six rebounds and two assists with 4/9 three-point shooting.

Bridgette Rettstatt also had 15 points, 14 rebounds and three steals with Maddy Zugna adding 18 points, four boards and two steals, and Mila Wawszkowicz six points, four rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists.

The Suns are now 3-8 as well following the defeat at home with Gaby Bronson finishing with 18 points, five rebounds and two assists with Trista Hull adding 11 points and 12 boards, and Alyssa Bowen 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Lakeside Lightning (75) defeated Rockingham Flames (90)

Only two points separated the teams over three quarters but the Rockingham Flames blew the Lakeside Lightning away in the third for a seventh straight win as reigning MVP Teige Morrell celebrated returning to her old home floor.

Rockingham arrived at Lakeside Recreation Centre as the hottest team in the competition with six straight wins as they took on the seventh placed Lightning with dual MVP winner Morrell making her first return to her former home court.

Then for the first half the Lightning threw the challenge right down to the Flames to be leading by a point at half-time, but then the Flames made their move.

Rockingham scored 22 points to nine in the third quarter and that's where the game was won with the Flames only outscoring the Lightning by two points across the other three quarters of the game.

Rockingham continued their hot form on the back of that dominant third quarter and did it with Amy Atwell away for the 3x3 World Cup with the Australian Gangurrus, and ended up shooting 51 per cent from the field and overcame having the 19 turnovers to do so.

Morrell returned to her former home floor for the first time in Rockingham colours and the reigning MVP produced 20 points, five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals on 8/12 field goal shooting.

Sara Puckett top scored once more with 26 points, eight rebounds and two steals with 4/6 shooting from behind the three-point arc with Lesila Finau contributing 15 points, nine boards, three assists and three steals.

Stef Berberabe also had 14 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two steals, and Paris Duffield nine points, four boards, three steals and two assists.

Lakeside did stick with Rockingham well outside of that third quarter and Delanie Crawford finished with 24 points and seven rebounds with 6/11 three-point shooting.

Esme Morales added 20 points, nine assists, four rebounds and two steals, Sam Roscoe 11 points, five boards and five assists, and Sam Lubcke seven points, six rebounds and three steals.

SUNDAY

Willetton Tigers (88) lost to Goldfields Giants (95)

Sierra Moore enhanced her MVP prospects by leading the Goldfields Giants to a huge finish to storm back from a 21-point deficit in the third quarter for the 95-88 road win on Sunday over the Willetton Tigers.

On the eve of the WA Day public holiday, it was a late afternoon start at Willetton Basketball Stadium with the Tigers hosting the Giants and the home team trying to snap a four-game losing slide to try and break back into the top eight.

Goldfields arrived at 6-3 and trying to break back into the top four as well and it was the Tigers with the better of the start to lead by five at quarter-time and by 12 at half-time.

Willetton then started the second half on a 9-1 run to be leading 61-40 and looked on track for a fourth win of the season.

However, from that moment Goldfields dominated the game and held Willetton to four points the last eight minutes of the third quarter, and then kept that momentum going with a 35-point fourth quarter.

From the moment they were down 21, the Giants outscored the Tigers 55 points to 27 over the last 18 minutes of the game to win by seven and improve to a 7-3 record and to be back in fourth place as a result.

The big guns of the Giants ended up having big performances led by MVP fancy Sierra Moore with 26 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and five steals with 9/20 shooting from the field and 8/11 at the foul line.

Delaynie Byrne also had 26 points, eight rebounds and two steals with 10/15 shooting including 4/8 from three-point range.

Hazelle Yam also contributed 12 points and eight assists, Lexi Pana 11 points, six steals, three assists and two rebounds, Jemma Gatti eight points and seven boards, and 239-game captain Rachel Pettit eight points and four rebounds with 2/4 three-point shooting.

The Tigers have now lost five in-a-row to be 3-8 with Ruby Porter top scoring with 25 points, four assists and three rebounds on 4/13 three-point shooting.

Emma Calvert added 22 points and seven rebounds on 9/13 shooting with Remy Hearn contributing 13 points and 11 assists, Emma Gandini 12 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and five steals, and Nija Collier 10 points, seven boards and five assists.
