Welcome Back - Rowan Mackenzie

HE’S BACK!!! The Lakeside Lightning is thrilled to welcome back one of their own, Rowan Mackenzie. A proud Lakeside junior whose determination and hard work have seen him work his way through WABL, WA State Teams, NBL1, College and back home to the Lightning for the 2023 NBL1 West season.

 

After an outstanding stint with Lubbock Christian University where he averaged 19.5 ppg, shooting 54.4 per cent from the field as well as finishing the season with 606 points, the second most points scored in school history. With a multitude of Awards and Honors, most recently he earned D2 Conference Commissioners Association First Team All-Region Honors earlier this season and was also named the Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year. Rowan got it done at both ends of the court with multiple Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards.

 

This is what Rowan had to say about signing with the Lightning: “I’m so excited to be back with a great group of guys, and under Coach Mike. I can’t wait to see everyone, especially my amazing Mum, and am so excited to be involved with the Lakeside community!"

 

We can't wait to see him back in purple for the 2023 NBL1 Season.
