Triple Treat as Miners Women Re-sign

The Ballarat Miners are excited to announce the re-signing of three local players for the 2024 Mitsubishi NBL1 South Season, with Jemma Amoore, Millie Cracknell & Milly Sharp all re-committing to the club. All 3 athletes have played all their basketball in Ballarat, starting as a junior with domestic clubs; Exies Acmy, Celtic Tigers & Saints respectively.
Newly appointed Women’s Head Coach, Kennedy Kereama was ecstatic with the signings, stating “I am absolutely thrilled to secure three exceptional young talents in Jemma, Millie & Milly, to our team for the 2024 season. These remarkable players have not only showcased their immense dedication and skill but have also progressed through the esteemed local and state pathways in Ballarat.”
Kereama went on to say “I am genuinely excited to have the opportunity to work closely with them, overseeing their continued development. Together we will strive to unlock their full potential and assist them in pursuing their basketball dreams.”
Amoore, who has already committed to attending Sacramento State in the middle of next year said, “I’m looking forward to playing for the Miners again this coming season and can’t wait to get started with the rest of the team, especially under such an experienced coach in Kennedy, who I’m confident will bring out the best in us to ensure that we have a successful season.”
Cracknell, returning for a sixth campaign at NBL1 level, was excited upon re-signing, saying “I’m super keen for next season and a fresh start with a high-level coach in Kennedy, who will no doubt give our team a great advantage over the rest of the competition. I am also excited with Milly and Jemma signing on as this provides a great foundation of locals along with a strong calibre of girls to come!”
Sharp enters her third NBL1 season and said, “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to again play with the Ballarat Miners in season 2024 and am eager to get stuck into pre-season with the team. I am especially looking forward to learning from someone such as Kennedy, Go Miners!”
Basketball Ballarat CEO, Nev Ivey added “We are extremely happy that Jemma, Millie & Milly have all recommitted to the Miners program for another year, creating a nice local and returning contingent for our women’s roster in 2024. We are excited to see their games develop even further under the tutelage of Kennedy and look forward to what next season holds for them on an individual level, as well as the Miners as a collective team.”
