North Banner

After a Finals season with the Pirates, Kai Woodfall has re-signed for the 2024 season.

In 2023 he averaged 18.7 points per game, 4.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds for the Semi-Finalists.

He scored 20+ points in nine games this past season as the secondary option behind former All-NBL star Lamar Patterson.

He joins head coach Aja Parham-Ammar as the first player signing for the men’s squad for 2024.

South V3

George Blagojevic, the former Cairns Taipan, has re-signed with Geelong for 2024.

Last year was a comeback season for the big man, coming off a significant knee injury in 2022. He averaged  22.4 points, 10 rebounds and 2.6 assists for Supercats.

Geelong United Basketball’s General Manager of Pathways, Megan Moody, said the club expects Blagojevic to be an important piece of their 2024 Finals push.

“We see George as a key part of our push to return to finals action in 2024,” he told Geelong United Basketball.

“For someone coming off the injury he suffered, George had a really strong 2023 season. We’re looking forward to seeing him take his game to another level next year.”

He is currently overseas playing in Serbia for Dynamic VP.

West Banner

After winning the Sixth-Player of the Year award, Amy Jacobs is back for the 2024 NBL1 West season.

Last season the 22-year-old averaged 8.6 points and 6.2 rebounds for the Grand Finals runners-up in the Willetton Tigers. The mid-season addition made an instant impact off the bench, finishing six games in double-digit scoring for the most dominant franchise out West.

The Perth Lynx development player will have a full WNBL season before she returns and will now get to show off her talents for an entire NBL1 campaign next season.

Tiana Wilson-Palmer, the 19-year-old guard for the Rockingham Flames, is back for another season.

In 12 minutes a game last season, she averaged 3.8 points and 1.3 assists for the Preliminary Finalist Flames.

With a season-high of 20 points against the South West Slammers, Wilson-Palmer has a long career ahead of her in the NBL1 West.

Banner East

NBL champion Mason Bragg is making the move from the Sunshine Coast to Manly, set to play in the NBL1 East for 2024.

After averaging 12.3 points, 5.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds in the NBL1 North, the talented guard will head down to the east coast to play for the Sea Eagles.

Last season Manly Warringah finished 14th on the NBL1 East ladder, finishing with a record of 4-18. Bragg joins new head coach Timothy Hill for 2024.

The Norths Bears have been busy this off-season, already locking down five players across their women’s and men’s squads.

On the men’s side, Defensive Player of the Year finalist Mike Golding is back for 2024.

After averaging 8.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and two steals per game for the NBL1 East Finals team, the talented defender will return for another season.

“I'm pumped to be signing on for another season with the Bears,” he said on social media.

“Our playing roster and our coaching staff are upgrading, and our goal is to improve on last season's unfortunate exit. I'm looking forward to wearing the red and black for another NBL1 season. Go Bears!”

After making the move from Mount Gambier to Maitland last season, Shakera Reilly is set to return to the Mustangs in 2024.

After averaging 16.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists with Maitland last season, the scoring wing is back for another season.

In 2023 the Mustangs were able to crack the top eight and make the NBL1 East Finals, before being knocked out by the championship-winning Norths Bears in the Elimination Finals.

After her dominant NBL1 East season, Reilly was rewarded a development player contract with the UC Capitals, returning after winning the championship with them in the 19-20 season.

Women’s head coach Mark Wawsszkowicz said the team is excited to bring back Reilly for next season.

“We’re really excited to have Shak joining us again in 2024,” he said via social media.

“Her offensive game, defensive intensity and developing leadership skills are exactly what we need as we continue our quest to be a serious force in NBL1 East. Welcome back Shak!”

Reilly added, “nothing beats home and the amazing support we have”, speaking on her return.
