The Miners Doctors of Choice

The Ballarat Miners are excited to announce they have extended their partnership with Ballarat OSM as the preferred Sports Medicine Provider for a further two years.

The Ballarat Miners and Ballarat OSM have been partnered together since 2019 providing the Miners with access to team of medical experts including a group of independent specialist surgeons and physicians located right here in Ballarat.

As part of the partnership, all NBL1 athletes will be medically screened prior to the start of the season and will have direct access to Dr Jai Sharma for any medical concerns during the week. Additionally, Dr Sharma will also be at all home games to provide elite medical assistance with a greater focus on in-game concussions.

Basketball Ballarat’s Partnership Manager Melissa Thomas said, “We are thrilled to welcome back Ballarat OSM as a part of our elite Miners Program.”

Thomas added, “The extension of this partnership provides us with great continuity for our returning athletes and allows us to offer the best possible services to our athletes for any medical issues that may arise.”

In addition to the direct medical expertise Ballarat OSM will also be the player sponsor of Amos Brooks who is heading into his fourth season with the NBL1 Miners.

Ballarat OSM Sport & Exercise Medicine Physician Dr Greg Harris said "We are very excited to be involved with the Miners Women's and Men's programs again for the coming years. We are overjoyed to provide the highest level of Sports Medicine care to our elite teams, and to the whole Ballarat Basketball community."
