The Hobart Chargers have secured the signing of Tasmanian guard-forward Taylor Mole for the 2027 NBL1 South season, with the local product returning home following a productive campaign with the Ringwood Hawks.

Mole averaged 14.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for Ringwood in 2026.

The 188cm guard-forward is currently playing with the Tasmania Jewels in their inaugural WNBL season, where she is coached by assistant Jack Fleming, who is set to lead the Hobart Chargers women in the 2027 NBL1 South season.

Mole made history earlier this year as the first Tasmanian rostered player to sign with the Jewels, returning to her home state after a basketball career that has included time at the Australian Institute of Sport Centre of Excellence, US college basketball with UC Santa Barbara and Colorado State, and WNBL appearances with Adelaide and Geelong.

Known for her perimeter shooting and versatility, Mole will add another scoring option to the Chargers' women's roster as the club builds towards the 2027 campaign.

For Mole, the opportunity to represent her home club and continue working under Fleming was a major factor in her decision.

"I'm super excited to be joining the Chargers for the upcoming NBL1 season!" Mole said.

"I'm keen to stay at home and keep some continuity with Jack as the head coach and hopefully get a lot of wins along the way too."

Fleming highlighted Mole's shooting ability, leadership and experience as important additions to the squad.

"We are thrilled to sign Taylor and keep her home in Hobart. Her shooting, versatility and leadership will be a major asset to the program," Fleming said.

"She is the ultimate professional who's a great model in the community for young juniors following their path."

Mole's signing adds further experience to Hobart's preparations for the 2027 NBL1 South season, with more player announcements expected in the coming months.
