Story by Emily Clooney   The Advocate

The Tasmania JackJumpers' opposition for their pre-season practice game has been locked-in, with Melbourne United set to make their way to the Coast.  The JackJumpers will return to the North-West for the first time in more than a year later this month when they host United at Ulverstone Sport and Leisure Centre on Monday, August 28.  JackJumpers co-chief executive Jorrick Chivers said players and coaches will travel upstate for a camp from August 25-30.
"We're excited to have Melbourne United here for a Battle of Bass Strait. It'll be a great opportunity to test the squad against quality opposition and solidify our first block of preseason training" Chivers said.  "It's always great to showcase NBL level basketball to fans across the north of the state and engage with the passionate fan base up there."
It will be the first of two practice matches played, with the side to travel to Launceston on August 30 to once again face United.  The side will host a number of community events including basketball clinics, club and school visits during the six-day camp.
"Being on the road for the preseason really helps the group bond but it is also a really important opportunity to connect with our fan base and inspire people of all ages," coach Scott Roth added.  The two practice games are scheduled to get underway at 6.30pm.
JackJumpers members will have first priority to pre-season practice games tickets when the pre-sale opens on August 8 at 10am before general public tickets go on sale on August 9.
