The Sutherland Sharks prevailed 77-70 over the Hills Hornets on Saturday at Hills Basketball Stadium, securing a hard-fought win in challenging away conditions. Jason Spurgin led the Sharks with a dominant performance, recording 23 points on an efficient 64 percent shooting from the field. The big man was nearly unstoppable in the paint, converting nine of 13 two-point attempts while adding three blocks and six boards. Lochlan Hutchison provided strong support with 19 points, including three triples and five assists, as Sutherland's ball movement (19 assists to Hills' 10) proved decisive in building leads that reached 18 points during their strongest stretches. Zachery Hudson added 14 points and dominated the glass with nine rebounds, while also recording three steals as Hills forced 20 Sutherland turnovers.
