Casey Cavaliers (102) defeated North West Tasmania Thunder (82)

The Casey Cavaliers maintained a top four position with the 102-82 home victory against the North West Tasmania Thunder.

The Cavaliers were back home at Casey Stadium needing to bounce back from a loss last Friday night to the Sandringham Sabres ahead of hosting a North West team trying to avoid a seventh consecutive defeat.

The Cavs started in exciting fashion with a 26-16 opening quarter on the back of shooting 11/19 from the floor opposed to the 7/19 from the Thunder.

That lead for Casey got out to 14 points in the second period and they were still leading 53-40 by half-time before that advantage blew out to 24 in the third term.

The Cavaliers went on to secure the 20-point win from there to improve to a 9-5 record on the season to maintain a top four position in their only appearance of the weekend.

Nate Roberts delivered 21 points, 15 rebounds and five assists on 9/12 field goal shooting in the win for the Cavs with Trendon Hankerson adding 20 points, four boards, four assists and two blocks with 4/8 three-point shooting.
