Snow To Reign For Another Season

You would think after 435 senior Big V and NBL1 games, Ringwood Hawks Legend Matthew Snow may be starting to lose a little bit of enthusiasm for the idea of another pre-season. But in reality, Snow simply cannot wait to walk through the doors of a Basketball Stadium.

You would think after 435 senior Big V and NBL1 games, Hawks Legend Matthew Snow may be starting to lose a little bit of enthusiasm for the idea of another pre-season. But in reality, Snow simply cannot wait to walk through the doors of a Basketball Stadium and he has plans to have a few others with him.
“I have been calling the guys that we had coming in this year to see if we can get as many back for next year.” Snow said after announcing his commitment to return for another season.
“We had a nice team and I would really like the opportunity to play an NBL1 season with all of them if that is possible.
The Hawks planned rise up the NBL1 ladder in 2020 was derailed by COVID and since the season was cancelled, Hawks players have headed off in many different directions. Ricardo Martin is currently in South Australia playing for the Southern Tigers, Lochlan Hutchison headed back to Sutherland in the Waratah League in NSW and import Tim Guers is tearing up the Luxembourg league with the BBC Kordall Steelers.
At the start of 2020, Snow was recovering from knee surgery but with a year off, the Hawks veteran has had plenty of time to rehab and should be back to best.
“He is remarkable and the best teammate and player I have played with.” Hawks Co-Captain Shaun Clarke said.
“And yep, I got a call from him, he is very excited for us to have a big season next year.”
With Snow working the phones, the Hawks are hoping to be challengers again in 2021 but one issue that is swirling around will be whether teams will be able to bring imports in to the country.
“We would love to get Tim back, and I think he would like to come back but it would mean he will be away from home for a long time, that’s something he has to consider.” Hawks Coach Ken Harrington said.
“We are in constant contact with him and I guess we just have to hope that by April next year we have opened up enough to get imports in to the Country. “
