Six current and former NBL1 players named in Under 19 Men's World Cup Team

Six NBL1 players will represent Australia at the upcoming FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup, which will take place in the cities of Riga and Daugavpils from 3-11 July.

Six NBL1 players will represent Australia at the upcoming FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup, which will take place in the cities of Riga and Daugavpils from 3-11 July.
The team features current NBL1 players Taran Armstrong from the North West Thunder, Tamuri Wigness from the Brisbane Capitals and Blake Jones from the Logan Thunder.
Former NBL1 players include Dyson Daniels (Bendigo in 2019), Reyne Smith (North West Thunder in 2019) and Bol Dengdit (Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence in 2019).
Armstrong is averaging 15 points per game so far this season for the Thunder while former Thunder guard Smith saw success with Tasmania in the recent Australia U20 Championships with Tasmania, averaging 23.2 points per game.
Wigness has just put pen to paper for the Capitals for NBL1 North after a solid season with the Bullets.
His NBL teammate Jones has already began dominating for the Logan Thunder in the league with averages of 17.50 points and eight rebounds per game.
Daniels' career has continued to grow since his time with Bendigo, having been part of the NBA Global Academy, starring on debut for the Australian Boomers and dominating for Victoria in the recent U20 Championships.
Dengdit is also part of the NBA Global Academy and will play in his first U19 tournament after only picking up the sport at 15 years old.
Australia has drawn Pool D for the upcoming championships along with USA, Turkey and Mali.
The Emus’ first game of the tournament will take place on Saturday 3 July against Mali.
