COACHES MESSAGE (LUKE SUNDERLAND)

After a nail biting round 1 overtime loss, we look to get back on track tonight against

visiting Eltham, who themselves are coming off a Round 1 loss. Last week saw a lot of promising signs against a top calibre side in Geelong, with a good mix of recruits and our local contingent all contributing in a variety of ways.

Eltham has a different type of line up to Geelong and will require us to keep building on the positives from last week while executing better in the half court. Josh Sykes, Mitchell Dance and former Miner Sam Short will be key players to try and limit at the offensive end. Defensively the Wildcats have a number of versatile players that will require us to execute effectively.

Last week showed the versatility and explosive offense capability we have amongst our roster, which will be one of our strengths that we will only improve on as the season progresses.
