The Waverley Falcons produced quite the dominant performance with DJ Vasiljevic and Maurice Howard combining for 44 points in the 117-77 home win over the North West Tasmania Thunder.

Waverley were playing its first game since beating the Kilsyth Cobras last Saturday night while it was a second road game of the weekend for North West Tasmania following the win against Geelong United.

It was a horror opening to the afternoon for the Thunder with the Falcons going on an 18-0 scoring run to lead by 22 points and with the visitors losing Tre Armstrong for the rest of the afternoon in that stretch.

Waverley would lead 34-15 by the end of the first quarter before still being on control leading 51-38 by half-time.

It was then an even more dominant second half from the Falcons with 27 points to 16 in the third quarter, and 39 to 23 in the fourth for them to end up securing the 40-point victory.

It makes it five wins in-a-row for Waverley who improve to an 8-4 record on the season with DJ Vasiljevic producing 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Maurice Howard also had 22 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals on 4/8 three-point shooting with Matthew McCarthy contributing 15 points and five boards, Mason Forbes 16 points and four rebounds, Malik Meunier 12 points and six assists, and Dexter Kernich-Drew 11 points, three rebounds and three assists.

North West Tasmania is now 6-7 on the season following the defeat with Sekou Sylla finishing with 19 points and 16 rebounds.

Archer Woodhill added 16 points and eight rebounds, Isaac Atuer 14 points and two assists, and Jake Afoa nine points, 10 rebounds and two assists.

Waverley will now be on the road to the Nunawading Spectres on Saturday night with the Thunder to take on the Hobart Chargers in Hobart on Friday.
