The Knox Raiders defeated the Waverley Falcons 106-74 on Tuesday night at the State Basketball Centre, dominating with a 32-point margin in a commanding performance.
The Raiders' offence was firing on all cylinders, shooting an impressive 58.5 percent from the field compared to Waverley's 39.7 percent. Brody Nunn and Keli Leaupepe led the charge with 25 points apiece, with Nunn shooting efficiently from both inside and outside. Sunday Dech added 20 points on 72.7 percent shooting alongside three steals. The Raiders controlled the glass with a 42-31 rebounding advantage and displayed superior ball movement with 22 assists to Waverley's 13.
For the Falcons, Malik Meunier put in a solid effort with 19 points and a team-high five assists while hauling in eight boards. Robbie Heath and DeJuan Clayton contributed 13 and 12 points respectively, but the team struggled to find rhythm against Knox's stifling defence. The Falcons' 32.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc and 11 turnovers compared to Knox's eight further highlighted their offensive struggles.
