NBL1 South is proud to announce Pixellot as the new presenting partner of the league’s Local Legend Award for the NBL1 South 2026 season, strengthening the commitment to recognising the people who make a lasting impact beyond the scoreboard.

Introduced to celebrate the unsung heroes across the league, the Local Legend Award shines a light on individuals nominated by clubs who have made a meaningful contribution within their NBL1 South program, local association and wider community.

With Pixellot joining the initiative in 2026, the award will continue to highlight the volunteers, staff, mentors, administrators and community leaders whose work helps drive basketball at the grassroots and association level.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment between NBL1 South and Pixellot to support the people and stories that sit at the heart of the game, while giving greater visibility to those who often work behind the scenes to help clubs and communities thrive.

Alison Cody, NBL1 South League Manager applauded the alignment saying

"Pixellot will play an important role in elevating one of NBL1 South’s most community-focused initiatives and ensuring the stories of local contributors continue to be recognised throughout the season"

Dean Anglin, Chief Commercial Officer (Aust/NZ) at Pixellot, said the partnership aligns closely with Pixellot’s focus on elevating the people behind the game

“Pixellot is pleased to support NBL1 South’s efforts to highlight the tremendous work athletes and club officials do off the court to grow the sport of basketball. At Pixellot we aim to create Local Legends of a different kind every day, from every game”

The Local Legend Award will again run weekly throughout the NBL1 South 2026 season, with clubs invited to nominate deserving individuals who have made a positive and lasting contribution to their program and basketball community.
