The NBL1 stars have been outstanding thus far, with Launceston's Mariana Tolo leading the way with her toughness and tenacity.
Against Canada in a three-point win, Frankston’s Darcee Garbin was the spark off the bench the Opals needed. She scored eight points in quick succession while Tolo put up nine points and five rebounds.
In the game to decide their Pool B seeding, Australia put themselves on top by beating Japan 71-54 on Tuesday. Again Tolo was spectacular with 14 points and six rebounds but Cayla Geroge came up clutch with nine points and nine rebounds to secure the top spot.
