OLIVIA WILLIAMS SIGNS WITH ONEFORTYONE PIONEERS FOR 2027

The OneFortyOne Pioneers are pleased to announce the signing of New Zealand guard Olivia Williams on a one-year deal for the 2027 NBL1 South season.

Standing at 185cm (6'1), Williams joins the OneFortyOne backcourt following her collegiate career in the United States and her move to New Zealand's Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa competition.

Williams most recently played college basketball at the University of San Francisco during the 2025-26 NCAA season, appearing in 22 games. Prior to that, she spent four seasons at the University of California, Irvine, where she started throughout all four years of her collegiate career.

During her time at UC Irvine, Williams recorded her strongest statistical season in 2022-23, averaging 8.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 40.6% from the field and 32.9% from three-point range. She continued to contribute during the 2024-25 season, averaging 7.3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

At the international level, Williams has represented New Zealand across multiple age groups, including the U17 and U19 national teams. In 2025, she also represented the senior New Zealand national team at the FIBA Women's Asia Cup in Shenzhen, China.

In September 2026, Williams signed with Northern Kahu in Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa, where she will continue her current season before making the move to Mount Gambier for the 2027 NBL1 South campaign.

OneFortyOne Pioneers Head Coach Matt Sutton said, “Olivia will be a great fit in our program. She has versatility and size and will be able to play multiple positions on both ends."

“We look forward to welcoming another great person to our program and look forward to watching her compete in New Zealand for the remainder of her current season.” he added.

Williams said she was excited about the opportunity to join the Pioneers and begin the next chapter of her basketball career in Mount Gambier.

“I’m excited to be joining the OneFortyOne Pioneers for the NBL1 2027 season! I’m looking forward to this next chapter, competing alongside my new teammates, and contributing to a great program. Grateful for the opportunity and ready to get to work!”

The OneFortyOne Pioneers look forward to welcoming Williams to Mount Gambier for the 2027 NBL1 South season.

Further roster announcements will follow as the club continues preparations for 2027.
