Hobart Chargers (88) defeated North West Tasmania Thunder (73)
The Hobart Chargers made it three consecutive wins on Friday night winning the battle of Tasmania 88-73 at home to the North West Tasmania Thunder.
The Chargers were back home at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre on a two-game winning run hosting a North West team trying to bounce back from a loss to the Waverley Falcons and looking to stay in the playoff race.
Hobart were leading 20-16 by quarter-time and then would end up taking charge further in the second period by opening up a lead as big as 15 points before heading into the half-time break on top 42-33.
The lead for the Chargers grew to as much as 17 points in the final quarter as well before the home team would go on to score the 15-point victory in the clash of the two Tasmanian teams in the NBL1 South.
The victory improves Hobart to a 9-5 record on the season with three consecutive wins with Vionte Daniels starring with 31 points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds on 10/19 shooting from the field, 3/5 from downtown and 8/8 at the foul line.
Terrell Brown added 21 points, four assists and three rebounds, Ole Angerstein 15 points and nine boards, and Joe Chilcott six points, six rebounds and two assists.
North West Tasmania are now 6-8 on the season with the defeat which saw Seth Swalve top-score with 32 points, five rebounds and three assists with 6/9 shooting from three-point land.
Sekou Sylla contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Isaac Atuer 10 points.
The Chargers now don't play again until hosting the Sandringham Sabres on Friday June 14 while the Thunder are in action the following day hosting the Sabres as well.
